So looking into some future swap ideas, and using a MA5 transmission out of a Colorado, with a solstice bellhousing.
I have searched (google) and looked through car-part.com but can't find just the bellhousing for sale by itself.
Am I missing something? Not ready to buy anything now, just trying to price out some ideas. Where can a person find just the bellhousing?
I have one. I'm using the AR5/Fabbot adapter in my car behind the LS3. I have the stock AR5 bellhousing.
I think you may be confused though. The AR5 is the Colorado transmission. Solstice also is an AR5. I thought the only difference between the two was the tailhousing(slip yoke vs fixed yoke) and 3rd gear ratio.
Car-Part.com is your only real hope(Its where I found my Liberty Bellhousings...and that is a rare one...only 3 in the nation at that time)trashed transmissions are your friend there too..."Cores"), but before you get ahead of yourself, why are you looking for a Solstice bellhousing? Are you swapping an Ecotec 4 cylinder engine into something? What engine are you looking to get in there? TThe AR5/MA5 is an Aisin transmission using the(small?) Aisin bolt pattern...meaning there are a LOT of bellhousings it will bolt to, included but not limited to the Jeep AX15(Jeep I6s and v8s, and if I remember right from Pirate 4x4 a variety of Chevrolet v6s and older SBCs), the Jeep liberty 2.4L(Neon SRT4) 4 cylinder, the Toyota Supra using the R154(1JZ and possibly 2JZ), the The Toyota trucks using the R150(forget which engines they had), The Dodge Dakota bell allows bolting up to the 2.2/2.5 turbo dodge engines.

Maybe I am confused. I was thinking the solstice bellhousing would bolt right up to an EcoTec (LSJ from a ion redline, or cobalt ss) but that the Colorado bell housing would not?
The goal is to rwd swap a LSJ Ecotec. Similar to this http://www.britishv8.org/Triumph/AlbertGary.htm
If I search for just the bellhousing on car part nothing comes up.

Yes basically thought the AR5 bellhousing with the MA5 transmission you the LSJ Ecotec would be a good combo if can get everything for the right price.
I know the MA5 (if that is even correct) from the Colorado's can be gotten very cheap still.

Also are you looking to sell that AR5 bellhousing?
