Usually the Chumpcar forum is the right place for this sort of thing, but figured I'd post it here too. We have a bullet-proof plan for fixing the transmission issues that were plaguing us at the Challenge, so with that out of the way, we really should have a rocket ship of a Chumpcar but an incomplete driver roster.

Price reduced for a seat in the Little Lamb-orghini's debut Chumpcar race. This is perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pilot a dual-engine 12-cylinder street legalish tri-fecta completing space ship on wheels.

Your $700 buys you 1/5 to 1/4 seat time, entry fee, and all consumables. You're on your own for a Chumpcar license, safety gear, food, lodging travel and whatnot. I can hook you up with a used driver suit if you're my size - 5'11", 32" waist.

This car was just this weekend awarded Grassroots Motorsports $2012 Challenge Challengers' Choice award.

Still not sold? Consider these endorsements of the sheer awesome that is the Little Lamb-o':

"It's not the worst mid engine conversion I've ever driven" Alan McCrispin, Multi-time national autocross champion

"I can't see any real difference between this and a Lamborghini, except one's a sublime piece of Italianate design and the other's built out of crap." Jason Torchinsky, Jalopnik

"Best. Escort. Evar!" 4cylndrfury, UltimaDork, GRM Forum

I'm interested and local to RA. Let me run it by the wife, as that event is close to her due date

semi interested. I need a Chumpcar license. I have an old Snell 95 helmet, don't think it will be legal. Good thing my frame is identical to yours, 5'11, 32 inch waist!

Is there a deadline in which you need to know?

In reply to DukeOfUndersteer:

Not a specific deadline, but first come, first served. I'll cough up the entry fee to Chumpcar myself at the deadline (this week) and fill the seats as soon as I can, hopefully before the Mrs. gets a look at the credit card bill.

I will work on the wife. She is fine with the driving, not so sold on spending $700 right before Christmas.

Since I don't think I'll be able to make the race, I'll also offer up my gear to borrow (If Chris doesn't mind bringing it along with him). I'm 6'1" and about 185, and my jacket is a bit bit on me. I haven't totally ruled out crewing, so I might even be able to bring it myself.

So, what was wrong with the transmission?

LOL! Your funny typo made me laugh. Surely you meant 42" waist.

I sent an email to Anson, the famed owner of the Durocco.
He would be the perfect addition to your team and one of the few people that I know that has extensive dual engine experience.

Chris and Paul, thanks for the help and good times at the Challenge.

Soopid Megashift not working right. We never did get the issue precisely diagnosed, but thought it was getting a noisy speed sensor signal causing it to change gears (or drop out of gear) randomly, but then about halfway through the day Saturday the processor in the Megashift totally borked itself, and it wouldn't communicate at all, also for unknown reasons.

Plan B, throw out the Megashift (which was $400 worth of my challenge budget, by the way) and rig up a switch on the 4-cylinder shifter linkage to switch the automatic's solenoids to always match what gear the 4-cylinder is in. No smarty pants computer picking an 'ideal' gear, just one smarty pants driver picking a gear and mashing the gas. Ought to work.

I'm not going to be able to drive for a laundry list of reasons, but nothing stopping me from crewing if you're interested.

Warning: I'm a total noob at this sort of thing. Been a RR spectator and autocrosser for over a decade, but never actually did the wheel-to-wheel thing. Glad to help out though.

I ran the spring Road Atlanta ChumpCar race and had a blast - certainly worth the price of the safety gear (thanks ebay!) and entry fees. My wife has nixed racing just before the baby arrives, though. Good luck!

Excellent - my salary requirements consist of 1 beer, as I'll bring another 12 in case I'm still thirsty.

I'll PM you for details.
