When someone says something nice that really isn't. I got tickled thinking of these, but really I'm too nice to use them. Warning, equal-opportunity offense follows, I really like some of these cars.
To the guy with the new-to-him Boxster:
Nice Porsche, what's that, a 944?
To the 911 driver:
Nice Cayman.
To the Corvette driver:
Nice Fiero!
To the G8 driver:
You know, people rag on the Aztec, but the 4-door version looks really good.
To the CTS-V driver:
Now that's the Catera they shoulda made, am I right?
To the Bentley driver:
Awesome car. That VW content really dresses up nice, doesn't it?
To the Audi sedan driver:
Nice. Is that the new Passat?
To the Lexus ES driver:
That's sharp. And a Camry is really gonna last for ya, too.
To the Merc S-class driver:
Love the color. Hyundai is realy gonna go places with that Genesis.
To the Camry driver:
Taurus. Smart buy.
To the Escalade driver:
Wow. The Tahoe is getting flashier every year, isn't it?
To the Gallardo driver:
Sexy car. Friend of mine's dad built one of those in the 70s, too, but your paint work is waaay better than his.
Yours?
to the Grand National owner: nice Motne Carlo. i used to have one just like it. but it was red.. and it was a Mustang.
You wanna piss off a Jensen owner with a thin skin, say 'Nice Triumph'.
Then there's the catchall around here: show up with (insert LBC) and invariably someone will say 'Nice Fiat' and be dead serious.
My youngest brother bought a new 318is, he took it to show my dad. Dad is riding along, looks around and says (dead serious, no joke intended) 'Pretty nice car. The interior is almost as nice as (oldest brother's) Maxima'.
I thought my brother was going to punch him.
To the owner of the 1st gen RX7, I haven't seen one of those Porsche's for years
As a TR8 owner I hear all the time - TR7 ugh.
To the new Mercedes owner.- Nice BMW.

Applies to 2nd. gens as well, which aped the 944 look on purpose. Or, they'll say, "Nice 240SX," "Nice Corvette," "Nice Celica," or (worst of all) "Is that a Ford Probe?"
Another one for rotary cars- Well, at least it hasn't blown up yet.
To the new BMW owner - the Japanese are sure building nice cars these days.
I started a new job last fall. One of the guys I work with said (about my Swift GTi) " That's in really good shape. Is it a 3 cylinder?"
porsche owners get a bit huffy when you refer to their car as a volkswagen...repeatedly, it's kinda fun
I've gotten one about my Scirocco II "So what happens when that thing hits 88 mph?"
One insult us Mazdaspeed3 owners have to put up with is, "That's a pretty cool car, for a wrong-wheel driver."
Nice Triumph - to the MGB owner.
We pulled in to a local greasy spoon for breakfast. My buddy was driving his 1973 Firebird Formula 400, I had my '81 Turbo.
There's a C5 'vette parked in the lot, taking up two spots so nobody would bump his douchemobile with the door.
We get inside and there's "Corvette Guy". He's about 19-early twenty something and he's got the Corvette red and black jacket on that has almost more patches than a NASCAR driver's suit.
We sit down at the other end of the counter and my buddy says to him: "Nice Corvette!"
Corvette guy: "Thanks!"
Buddy: "Pretty cool of your dad to lend it to you for the weekend."
Only guy not laughing was Corvette guy.

To the Trans-Am owner: Sweet Firebird, brah.
"Toyota's reputation for excellent quality was due to cars like the Maxima, the Impreza, the Integra, the 240Z, and the original Altima"
I own two VW Corrados. I miss the days when people thought they were Sciroccos.
You don't sweat much for a fat girl.

I am soooooooooooo guilty of this one, only because it's true!
At least you aren't one of those people who always has to have a "cool" car.

But technically it is a TR7- V8 in the mother country. Isn't it?

And...almost everytime I am filling up my 64 Spitfire, someone comes over and says, " Nice MG. My brother had one just like it." I guess they can't read either.

Doesn't quite fit the topic but I feel it belongs. Went to a car forum get-together once and one guy brought a Tacoma with one of those TRD OFF ROAD stickers on the bed. My wife caught a glimpse of it and asked him why he put a "TURD OFF THE ROAD" sticker on his car? I almost died laughing.
