Add lightness. Remove the cruise control, power steering and anything else you can think of. And, of course, nobody needs A/C in New Hampshire.

boost gauge + boost control... high flow exahust (i literaly built mine with crap i had laying around... exited under the passenger rear door in front of the wheel)... intake...
more cost adds a decent IC, bigger turbo, megasquirt...
don't know if i'd want a red one... but a 5spd would be fun... i LOVED my volvo wagons :)... wish they'd have been 5spd though...
This crazy car guy i know buys them, adds all the lightness and spray paint he can, then has back 40 races in the field/woods behind his house. I gotta get my way in there someday....
Easiest way to boost power is to disconnect the regulator hose to the blow off valve. You'll need to run high octane fuel to enjoy it. No guarantee on how long the engine will last should you do that, though mine has almost 300k on it now.

I've had similar thoughts since I have a lead on a good running 740 turbo intercooled wagon for $500... Debating on if I can put together a Challenge effort for 2010 (time/budget definitely won't allow for 2009).
