"They are alleging I bribed someone," Ecclestone said, while insisting he did "nothing illegal."

It's legitimate business that you have to pay him to allow F1 to run on your track or for you to have anything to do with F1

In other news, German Grand Prix cancelled for 2014. Future of F1 events in Germany questionable.

Pretty sure he was joking, saying that Bernie won't go to Germany since that's where the charges are.

I gotta say, I'm confused about this news. I was sure he was the one RECEIVING the bribes, not giving them.

And this in a country where businesses are allowed to write off the cost of bribing foreign governments on their taxes.

The little troll's legacy will forever reign in the annals of creative financing infamy. Karma is a beotch and Bernie is preparing for a big wallop up side his little head.

Another interesting point is that this indictment occurred over two months ago and it took that long for someone in the US to take finally notice.

Really? I wonder why there was a delay, it just popped up on my BBC feed yesterday. The Fox add was just the first report that popped up on Google.

It was issued in German that long ago, it had to be translated into English.

That's why he was able to attend the German GP a fortnight ago without repercussions.

The thing I find amusing is that he says he paid the guy so he wouldn't go to British authorities with tax info regarding how one of his trusts are run. I wonder if he was actually doing something illegal, or if this is another clever ruse by Bernie. It wouldn't surprise me if he hasn't done anything illegal (other than the bribe) and is trying to deflect that way.
