Forgot to mention, a ZHP is little more than an appearance and mild cam package once you are talking track car since you are replacing the wheels/shocks/springs anyway. It is 100% not worth the "price premium" and is not legal for Spec E46 anyway if you wanted to go racing.

You know, except for the extra gear. ZHP was the only way to get a 6 speed, non ///M E46

That's actually not true. All late '03-up 330 models got the 6-speed, regardless of ZHP package. I test drove an '04 non-ZHP with one. There are more out there than you think.
You could also get the SMG in any RWD E46 starting at the same time, but we won't talk about that...

Also the 6-speed isn't as strong for track duty, the 5-speed is damn near bulletproof.
