I want to put some cheaper items on my wish list for Christmas. So I was thinking about adding some books. Any good recommendations. I have a NA miata. I already have Keith's first book for it Find it/Fix it/Trick it.

I found "Going Faster" (the Skip Barber book) useful when I was starting out. It's written for road racing, but much of the skills and techniques carry over to autocross. I know there are others, but I'll let people who have read them less than 15 years ago discuss them. (I've pondered writing one myself, specifically for newbies, but like so many projects I haven't gotten around to it.)

ANYTHING by Carroll Smith is another good plan. (good technical books)
Good fiction..
The Last Open Road (book series by BS Levy) (best to buy at his website, he will autograph for you) His "Potside companion" is also good.
The Art of Racing in the Rain (sad, but extremely good)
I picked up a copy of "Winning Autocross Techniques" by Ross Bentley (Amazon link).
I won't say it's the best book, but it's another one you can think about for sure. What's helped me the most is instruction time, particularly with the local hotshoes. The big ones: "look ahead," "slow down," and "backside slaloms."
He wrote some books too, but his best work was a video.
As an early gift, I present you Autocrossing with Dick Turner - in 11 parts
It's not a published book, but Dennis Grant's Autocross to Win site has some good content.
