my '44 liked the NGK plugs, one step hotter than what was recommended. The recommended range would foul every now and then, especially in very hot weather - car got to be a real dog when it was hot. Bumping up the heat range slightly did the trick.
Stay away from platinum, never ran well with those.
never had any problem with Bosch platinums.
