Just traded away ALL of my Volvo parts for this: ex-USAF 1967 Dodge D-200 Power Wagon crew cab step side 4x4. The Slant 6 should keep me rolling over decapitated zombie corpses until the oil reserves run out. At least it should once the varnish is out of the tank and the brakes are fixed

That is awesome! The slant 6 needs a turbo.

That's stinkin' cool man. Don't do any bodywork or paint. Just going to get zombie guts all over it anyway.

Oh, and it seems like the bubble canopy for the belly gunner from a b-17(?) would fit perfectly over the back seat of the crew cab.

Awesome.

Needs a no electrics Cummins, more torque for smushing zombies. (better fuel economy/towing too) 225 is great engine, one of the most reliable out there, but it's kinda E36 M3 for power stock.

I agree, a Cummins 4BT with fat turbo and converted to use veggie oil for maximum fuel flexibility is the way to go.

The 4BT weighs much less and takes way less space than a 6BT and gets better fuel mileage!

Definitely an electric powered bubble canopy gun turret for the roof and gun slots on each door. Add a ZAV inspired brush guard over the front grill and headlights... ummm...

Put an awesome cap on the back and add a tail gunner option!

I LIKE where this conversation is going!

Awesome! Please do not repaint it. It's perfect right now.

I agree

The problem is the rust on the floors and elsewhere. Floors will need replacing as well as the steps/rockers. My idea is to use POR15 or another rust stopper and then use structural body adhesive to brace the holes from behind on the smaller ones. The problem is I want it to still LOOK rusty. Is there a product that encapsulates but is mostly clear?

I've seen several cars at shows that were painted with multiple coats of flat clear coat to preserve the rust.

I would not have thought a slant 6 was all that was inside.

USAF truck. Still has the (dented) dash plate. The Government is cheap Probably the absolute lowest spec you could order and still have a 4x4 crew cab.

jrw: I believe the technical term for the gearing in that vehicle is "able to climb a wall" so a /6 should be fine.

I'd rather see it brought back to the USAF colors myself...rust doesn't sleep.

That IS the USAF color! Twice painted, faded to hell. Found the original color in a door jamb and a buff might bring it back.......but just wouldn't be right.

I bet nothing would stop that truck but a gas station the way it is geared. I am assuning that highway use is defined as "painful"

That was worth trading off all the Volvo stuff. Welcome to the weird and wild world of Mopars.

That '67 front end looks really good with the grill guard on it. And the crew cab with the step side looks a whole lot better than the fleet side.

Thanks, but this isn't my first foray into the world of Mopar:

Or big old trucks:

Or.... the color blue. I see a trend here.

That is one mean looking truck, I like it.

Had this saved on my HD, don't see your truck heading in the same direction though.

In reply to Nitroracer:

If by "heading in the same direction" you mean "crushing anything and everything in front of it", I'd have to disagree
