Breyton Competitions - PO had them on a really clean 89 m3 track day car.

the M-technik kit will make your car look 1000% better. The standardd E36 bumpers look like they came off of a buick
Just in case the OP needed any enabling...
If you believe the myth that trends start in the West Coast and move east, in the Seattle market ti's are the second most valuable E36's after M3's. I wanted one bad but had to "settle" for a 328i sport package 5sp.
the Ti has definatly bottomed out on it's depreciation curve and is heading back up. If you look at it's original sticker vs what it is currently worth vs all the other E36s.. it probably held it's value better than any of it's chassis mates

My 99 has vented rotors stock. Mine is stock with just some continental dw's. It makes a great dd for highway use, but it's really quite slow. I do like the way it looks though. Here is a pic of mine at solo nationals where I was very close to DFL in RTR.
140esque hp is not fast.. but at least 2700 pounds.. the Ti is not the porker the E36 318i and 318is are. To be exact, it's power to weight ratio can be easily brought up to equal that of the 325i.
This winter I hope to get mine apart.. so look for a build/rebuild thread in the future. I won't be making radical changes to the engine or drivetrain (unless I can get my hands on a DASC kit) but I hope to get her weight down around into the 2400s while still being comfy enough to daily drive
mad_machine wrote: The fact that the Z3 and Ti rear suspension bolts under the E30 is just icing on the cake for the E30 folks and feeds the rumors on this hated little car.
Well, apparently the E36 sedan's suspension will also fit in the E30 without much effort, from someone who tried it in a "hey we have two cars pulled apart next to each other let's mix and match" kind of way.
In reply to mad_machine:
Step 1, ditch the catalyst for power.....step 2, ditch the stock front seats(if you haven't already), as they weigh a metric E36 M3load......step 3, these cars have close to 200lbs of sound deadening on them......but that might effect road noise on the highway and thus livability.
The undercoating is thick and heavier than the steel it's covering - I don't doubt it would be near 200 lbs. Then again, after fixing the rust in mine, I'm not sure how long it's life would be in salt country without the undercoating - although the jack points and front fender were the source of moisture getting into the rocker panels - I'll be sealing the holes this weekend. The carpet is heavy with a couple of inches of foam insulation attached - I'm thinking it's in the 30lb range. Lighter seats/ditching back seats would get you back another 40-50lbs. A couple of POs ago, someone put a dinan chip in mine - supposed to be good for another 10-12hp and moves the redline up a bit. I've always heard the intake is the restriction point on these. I'm tempted to start modifying - but I really like this car as a DD and don't want to screw that up too much.
In reply to oldtin:
You should have kept that e30's intake setup btw........
It is a better design for sure. I just don't know how much better yet. BTW, I don't think I'll be able to use the Turner chip from the current dme when I switch to the e30 dme, so that might be up for grabs here in the near future.

I have a VERY hard time believing this.
Yeah, just need E36 M3 offset control arms and offset bushings. That is well known.....I thought he was talking about the rear.

I'd love to have a 2nd one as a plaything to mess with the intake, add some boost and see what kind of abuse it can take. I really like these little cars, but the more it gets modded, the worse it becomes as a daily so this one is close to done (for now).

We'll have to meet up after mine is done......it should be quick......and brutal

Would love to see it in action. I was already jealous just seeing that clean shell - although you can keep the black widow spiders. Knock-off M bumper covers have gotten pretty cheap - under $100 for non-abs and around $150 for abs. Mine fit surprisingly well.

Yea......I purposely waited until it was freezing temps to go move it into the farm shop. Didn't feel like having to go to the ER......Cleaned up pretty nice though. I'm glad I finally don't have the not enough money/time issue thats kept it sidelined for awhile.....

I have a knock off front on mine.. they hold up well too. The rear (not on the car) is pure M-technik though
They don't make aftermarket rears, do they? Last I checked the stock take offs were still pulling good money on 318ti.org......stupid model specific crap
Well, I didn't get the Ti down the street, but I did buy one yesterday. It is a bit rough, but I got it cheap enough that I had to pull the trigger.
My friend just picked up one these, it had a minor front end hit on it sometime around 2000, so the owner graciously replaced it with an M front end with the nice headlights as shown in other photos.
But whats unique about this car is that he has some sort of early style "M" package which gave it a great red and black interior, never seen it before. And I do believe he is putting a 6cyl in it :)
Also when trying to find a photo of the interior, I found this:
