Brightest white paint

I want the brightest white base/clear i can find. Think frsh snow at the top of the rockies bright. Blinding white. See it from space white. 

Paint code, or application?

Gm Arctic White - the color of the stripe on 96 corvette grand sports

BMW Alpine White. 

I would suspect it would just be pure white.  Pearl seems to make dirty cars look better, but I think it dulls the white a bit. Because of that I suspect most modern colors should be avoided since they seem to see how much pearl or metallic they can get in their colors.

I need to paint a car white and I am not sure if I should use a pure white (e.g. base color) or go with something like GM’s Ermine White (which appears to be pure white).  

I am not sure if there is a standard for “pure white”, so a manufacturer code might be safer for touch up purposes.

GM truck cab roof white, as I recall.

GM White is hard to beat.  They have a few so ask for chips but I believe it was code 10 or 11. 

I am also not sure if a clear coat makes a white look any better.  The shininess might actually reduce the “whiteness”.

 I am going with a single stage and have seen single stage whites look perfectly white.

Like metallic and pearl I think clear primarily makes dirty paint look better.

I Saw a White Corvette once and could see it was Whiter Than White, He Said they put a couple Drops of Blue in it to Make it Brite Artic  White.

The brightest white I've seen was something your not going to like. It was not shiny but in the bright sunlight it was almost uncomfortable to look at.

It was white Plasti-dip

I used 1990-93 Miata white as a base on the Targa Miata. It's pretty bright, and the mix code shows almost no tint added to the base. Just a bit of blue IIRC which makes white seem a little brighter.

I'd walk into a paint shop and ask them this question. They'll know.

I asked this of a painter friend of mine years ago.  He said to get a shop to use a white base and load it with as much titanium tint as they could.

It hurts to even look at my truck in the sunlight without sunglasses.

Rustoleum White would be easy to touch up.

My '77 Silverado has the white done by Tremclad.

We painted our large living room dark, dark green once; to make the white trim paint POP the mixer added a few drops of red.  It tricks your retina into seeing whiter.

Ford Super Performance White.   I painted the BMW race car in that and it was too bright.  Hurt your eyes bright.  Had to scuff it with some 2000 grit to dull it.

Believe it or not, a couple drops of black will make white paint look brighter.

When I painted my GTI a million years ago, we use the white base--like, nothing added to it. It was pretty bright.

Thanks y'all. I appreciate it.  Ive only ever owned one white car before this one, and never thought it was bright enough. Hoping to fix that this time. 

How about the cheapest nice white paint?  Let’s make it challenge relevant.  It’ll also be my first auto painting attempt.  I’ve painted other things....

the engine bay is fresh white rustoleum spray paint.

Paintforcars.com has $100 full kits in gm arctic white single stage that makes about 1.5 gallons sprayable. Patrick has had great success with it on his challenge datsun 

Car craft magazine had a Trans Am built by Shwartz on the cover several years ago that was a PPG white, can't think of what the name was. But in write up I specifically remember them stating that it was the whitest white they could find.

I'll see if I can Google it.
