Who wants them there? No one? OK I'll go back to my corner....

If this is just a plot to lure them in so they can be locked away where no one will ever put them in front of a camera again - good idea!
Tim said I could post the following:
There are discussions taking place and plans being tossed around.
I'll be bringing my officially licensed Rutledge Wood beard trimmer, Adam Ferrara I <3 NY t-shirt, and Tanner Foust energy drink, though, just in case an opportunity for an autograph presents itself.
Oh, and for those who didn't see the original thread...

You already have a Rutledge Wood beard trimmer? Don't you have to hit puberty first?
OK--I'll pipe in here then.
If EVER there were a "challenge" that was appropriate for TGUS, it's the 2012 Challenge.
Rut--you're one of us and you don't even know it, man!!!
This sounds like a great idea
Someone needs to post up a link or some info on their FaceBook pages. That way you can get the rest of their fans behind the idea. Maybe even post some of the vehicles from past challenges.
Have them there as competitors or as extra media attention?
I don't watch the show so I am not sure if they have the time/ingenuity/skills/wherewithall to troll craigslist, junkyards and curbs on trash day to put together something awesome.
I would hate to see a Top Gear "joke" build overshadow the cubic awesomeness that is annually created for this event. Likewise I would be pissed if I showed up with my very best piece of budget engineering and had to run against something that was built behind the scenes of a TV show by hired talent.
As extra media attention I am all for it. GRM deserves every morsel they can get. Foust as a ringer driver, Hell yes! I would sign up for that. The guys as judges I can get behind as well. I am not sure I like the idea of them as competitors though.

I don't think that would happen. It doesn't seem like the spirit of the event. In the end, the cars and competition are the stars, regardless of who drives them.
If anything, I'd think the TGUS guys would just be another group of competitors.
hells yes
Rut will bring a rabbit truck, it will be slow
Adam will bring a 500 cube cadillac, it will be huge and slow
Tanner will bring a rwd 600 hp focus....
yes please

We have already have an exhibition class. If you guys are worried about it, they could go there. If I even make it, I'll be an also-ran, and in the specials class, so I don't have any issues.
I'd like them there as well. I'll forward this to a guy I know who does stunt driving for the show :)
You guys could always reply to posts from his twitter account letting him know how much we'd like to have him join us. Of course, if you do, try to be on your best behavior and make a good impression.

Bound and gagged?
Am I seriously the only person here who thinks that they are terrible? If any press is good press - invite that dude from the panhandle who burns korans. He knows how to make the news!
I like the show, and think Rutledge is very funny. YMMV.
Don't like it, switch. That's why there are channel selector buttons on a TV. Same thing with him coming to the challenge. If you don't find it fun to be around him, there are plenty of other people there to hang out with and things to see.
He's definitely one of us, though.

do you ever say anything positive?
We get it. You hate them, you hate the show, you hate it all. No need to say it over and over in every thread. WE GET IT. Believe it or not, many of us (and apparently more than "us") do like it and like the hosts. I know.... it's such a hard concept to understand. Someone liking something you don't. We're all uneducated dolts for liking them, I am sure.
You'll need to log in to post.
