I prefer TGUK but TGUS is more realistic. I could just see Clarkson with his hammer, May being all nerdy and technical while naming his spanners, and Hammond just being goofy. They could bring the Eagle iThrust but I doubt it would do well.

Well, since JG is headed to the Nurburgring right now, maybe he can ask her

i've got Tanner's autograph on a training certificate from around 1996, when he worked for the Bridgestone driving school. My employer used to hire those guys to do some training for our engineers. i should put it on eBay or something.
Of course I'd like to see the TGUSA crew at the challenge. Have'm judge the concurs or compete in the exhibition class. Let Tanner autocross a few of the cars. I'm sure we can come up with some ideas that would be fun for all. Most importantly, it needs to be a good time for them. The more they like it, the better the press will be for us.
As far as USA vs. UK, I've been wanting to see that since the start. Not sure if the challenge would be the right venue, but it wouldn't be wrong either.....
Invite Big Daddy Don Garlits to come . If you bring the TGUSA guys tell them to do a show where they go to a junk yard or used car dealer in G ville couple days before challenge . Any celebrity coming would be a bonus for the challenge . One other thing during the walk thru of the course could we do a driver conga line slow speed parade with the cars to get to know track .
Well they have done a UK vs Ger. and UK vs Aus., so it is about time they do a US vs UK and being as they have down time this summer (due to probably the olympics IDK) maybe there is a slim chance.......
Only one way to find out!
Remember the size of the film crew that the UK guys brought to the Germany challenge....I don't know that an operation that large could be planned on this short of notice.
The guys from TG USA are a more realistic idea....Just having Rutledge is quite possible.
Since I have never been to a Challenge I can not say if there participation would be good or bad. I was on the fence about TGUS when it first aired but as time has gone on I actually have grown to like it. Each host brings a personality and a perspective that I find entertaining. So I say ya if they came it would be a good thing. However it kind of depends on the story line that they bring with it. I quick blurb with them describing the event and 2 minutes of air time would do no one any favors. A longer segment based on there participation with each host bringing a car would be interesting. If people are worried about ringers it could be set up for them to only be competing against each other. Kin of like the TGUK event when they participated in a rally bu they started two days late so they were only competing against each other.
I also see it is good PR for GRM. So go for it. It may even convince me to make the trek from the NE down to sunny FLA to see one of these things.
Obviously I'd love to see the Top Gear US guys attend, or participate in the challenge.
What I'd really love is to see them show up with a cheater car.......and have our guys kick their ass anyways! (Likely to happen as the top Challenge cars are badmuthas)
I'd imagine our top Challenge cars would humiliate anything built by "reality" TV.
and our expert autocrossers could teach Tanner a thing or two about "grip" racing!
BRING IT TGUS! ----- and be humbled

TV worth watching!
Have them build a Challenge car to compete with us.... Now there's an idea! Good for both organizations ;-) See how well they stack up against out homebuilt bohemoths!
I think it would be a great idea if they were given $1000 to buy a car and $1012 to modify it. Let them run with everyone, they won't top-10 unless they have cars that perform incredibly well.
Now, we need to get Kevin Smith to show up so we can have a JG lookalike contest :p

I would love to see that, but think it is more likely to get them as celebrity judges...they would not need to devote the time to participate.

...and JG can sell some camera gear to Kevin Smith
In reply to JoeyM:
Too bad he only has one more movie, then he's done. He's concentrating on SMODcasts now. Kevin would be easy to get out there, just for the lulz.
See, I'd envision the TGUSA build to be an overnight parking lot build. I think that would make for good TV myself. Even an arrive and drive scenario might work out and provide decent content. There's a good deal of $2000 sports cars out there in this area that run and drive enough to compete in the Challenge. With the Kumho rule, they could toss some V710s on just about anything and put on a hell of a show.

+1
For Tanner and to piss most of you off, there should be a drifting competition. Ok, not so much for Tanner, but primarily to piss you all off.
I have a feeling he'd drift around the autocross course anyway. I want to be there to see that myself.

If he was being mischievous for the show, yes, that might happen, but I'd say that a drifter is fully capable of controlling a car quickly in a non-drift manner....probably better than the average road racer could control a car in drifting manner.
