Wow, they made the styling A LOT more conservative since the FRS concept. That says bad things about what the pricing will be. I mean look at this:

Now that was HAWT. When I see that car, I want to find an excuse to buy it. The final version just looks OK and leaves me thinking hard about whether I should buy it.

As for subie vs yota, they both have their ups and downs. I hate the taillights on both though. I'd put the subie headlights with the yota grille and the yota rear end to get the best mix of features. Anyone who makes a body kit for these to make them look more like the FRS concept will be a rich man.

Given that Subaru always prices their cars much higher in Canada I'll stick with the Toyota.

Like a few others have said, I think they're both kinda ugly, but the Toyota/Scion less so. The Pep Boys fender grill/vent/ugly thing on the Subaru is dumb and stupid. The fender gap also looks to be slightly less on the Toy, although that's probably just the picture. And why is Toyota (and Subaru, in this case) obsessed with the Euro/ricer taillights? I'm a Nissan fan, and they put them on some cars too, but not as many as Toyota. Man those things are hideous. I guess my vote is for...an AE86?

that's probably because Subarus are AWD, so there's more demand up there for them than in, say, Florida.

might not be the case for a RWD sportscoupe.....

Well, that, and they really didn't perform up to the expectations they had built when they were hyping the fact it was going to have 300hp in one version and a turbo 4-cylinder that was co-developed with Mitsubishi and Chrysler and of which a variant powered the Evo X. Being about 2-300 lbs heavier than expected certainly didn't help, either, nor does fighting the Hyundai stigma when they're not significantly cheaper than a Mustang.

I didn't follow the Genesis, but if it was anything like the Veloster where you a promising car with good specs on paper, but the road reviews say its uninvolving to drive. It seems to point to a company that hasn't really focused on cars that hussle, they may be figguring it out but its clearly not there yet.

Toyota knew how to make cars hussle once upon a time and traded it in for beige effect. Thus I have greater trust they could "get their groove back" not to mention Subaru never really forgot and has been lending a hand. I have more trust in the Toybaru hype than Hyundai hype of late.

That said, I do like the FRS the best. No altezza lights, probably marketed to a lower price point, my phone handles my Navigation, and I got over badge whoring a long time ago.
