I really do hope that there are no delays from whichever company you are getting it from. You are one of the real people that Subaru and Toyota should be proud of. As for racing, i bet you'll see them going around Long Beach next spring. Natural fit for the celebrity race stuff they do.

Before the end of May is expected delivery day. I have vin and it left th West coast on a train ten days ago. Everytime the phone rings at my desk, I am hoping that it is my Salesperson calling for me to pick it up.

I am also staring to drive by the Dealer on the way home just to make sure they dont use my car as a floor model for a few weeks before they call me!

The dealers are only getting the cars that were pre-sold in their initial allotment. Next alloment is in August.

I am anti car payment and anti new car. But IF the BRZ backseat had been able to support child seats I was close to doing it anyway. But as it is its just a non option for me.

Whether or not they sell is going to come down to what the leasing and finance options are most people don't ask how much they just ask how much down and how much per month

I mean the thing has a hatch which means I know it will hold at least as much stuff as my Civic coupe. And I hauled the entire rear suspension, axles, rear brakes and differential from a Spitfire plus a race seat, camping stuff and a set of Civic springs in that and had room left for someone to sit up front. Unless you have kids you don't need anything bigger then a Fiat 500 or BRZ. And yeah I probably am not in the market for a new car because well I have other things I would like to spend my money on right now. But I hope it succeeds so I can buy it or an Abarth new in a few years.
Or own a house, want to go on a lengthy roadtrip, etc. I filled up our entire Speed 3 coming back from Nashville last year. No room for even one more case of beer. I'll echo alfa that you think what YOUR ok with, everyone should be ok with. And it's just not the case.
The BRZ will fit a set of wheels and tires. What do you carry on a roadtrip that takes up that much?
Obviously you're not married.

Precisely! My wife can make a bag for a resort (bathing suits and sun dresses) weigh 50lbs and need a 2nd!

Also, when we were in Nashville, we brought back lots of beer we couldn't get back home and from local breweries.

Again, you really need to lose the misguided notion that what works for YOUR needs, should work for everyone.

I know what is best for everyone.

Hey maybe I should do politics.

But seriously my point is a lot of people could easily live with a 500 or FRS but they buy a truck because it is "practical" and never use the bed for anything.

I thought child seats is all they're good for apart from reducing insurance costs...

Not in this day an age. small kids are supposed to be rear facing until like 3, and even older kids are supposed to be in booster seats till 12!!

It doesn't fit car seats from 2 reviews I read even forward facing with enough room for my 2 yr old.

If you had a 6-12 year old who didnt need a seat (but thats now against pediatric recommendation how did we ever survive) then yeah it would work fine

After having some more time with the car and driving both my buddies 2.5RS and NC Miata I have to say it's almost as if the two got together and had an offspring, though instead of AWD you got a lower car than the Miata, it's not super powerful, but the driving dynamics are more fun than the 2.5, sharp but gets looser than the Miata, it's fun, that is all...

Booster seats' only purpose is to correctly position the seat belts for safety and comfort. If your child is tall enough or the seat belts are configured such that they automatically have the correct position (think mini-seats like the 911 back seat and possibly the BRZ or FR-S back seat), your child doesn't need to be in a booster anymore.

I am sure you are right. But these days we have to be protected from ourselves otherwise we will blame someone else and sue?

i love it. i'm glad it's not available in awd. im equally glad it didn't make compromises to add more seats, cargo room, etc.

i think it's as perfect as a new car can reasonably be, and i look forward to owning one at some point.

Jeez, the more you guys talk about how good the Scionbaru is, the more I regret pulling the trigger on my Mustang before trying one. I don't hate my car at all- on the contrary, I like it a lot. But everyone who's driven a Scionbaru makes it out to have orgasmically good handling or something.

That sounds like understeer.

Huh?

Sounds like the prep used for every other RWD stock class car.

In reply to ProDarwin:

Balanced car plus big front bar = understeer. It might be faster because you have to do something to control the Hoosiers, but I can't imagine it would improve the driving experience.
