Just as additional data point. I paid 2k for my 82 5 speed and drove it home, but it needs paint and a bit of bodywork, plus most of the interior things it looks like yours need. The video car looks to have decent paint and body, so I don't think the mid to high 2k range is a bad deal. The odometer gears in these always seem to brake, but if you/they can prove the miles I would go ahead and take it at the $2800 personally.

I'm definitely thinking about it still. Body work takes a lot of time to straighten out so at least it's got that working for itself

you know that is actually a pretty great question. He had to run out and get fuel before we got there. It could have possibly had a fuel leak from the line or tank. I know about that first hand because the 944 I purchased a month ago spilled 10 gallons in my condo's garage and I almost was the dead one because my neighbors wanted to kill me.
Something about 20 year old gas gets people all upset! Bless their souls for being so understanding though.
