Honestly your best bet for any pre-89 C4 is to just put a ZF6 in there. Proven to fit/work and won't hurt your resale. A few years ago GM sold off a bunch of blue-tag ZF's they had sitting around for really cheap. I would imagine you can still get one cheaper than a T56.
