This is some sort of Hybrid Garret GT2871R Center Cartridge mated to an unknown exhaust housing and compressor...
Someone told me possibly a Turbo II compressor housing...
I don't really know a lot about turbos, other that use the biggest T-3 I can find at the junk yard, but the logo on the compressor housing is Hitachi's logo.
I decided to get my google-fu on- here's what I know. None of hitachis catalogs I can find reference anything on that exhaust housing. HERES where it gets interesting. I google up Allied Signal turbochargers- and they're...diesel? It's pre 1999, but you already knew that. Allied Signal merged with Honeywell back then, and kept the Honeywell name.
From what I can tell, it's probably a Garrett turbo of some sort, using a Hitachi compressor side....which does point to an FC3S turbo.... the Allied Signal thing is throwing me off.
EDIT- I got you covered. It is a Garrett GT2871R.... as identified by the part number on it.
EDIT EDIT- Everything I can see points to it having a dual BB center section. There seems to be a few variations within the GT2871R that are dependent on the compressor side. That's what I've got.
EDIT EDIT EDIT- A bit of further googling hits that it might actually be an SR20DET turbo of some sort....
The SR20 units didn't come up to 2871 size, and were all T2s.
Dan, i wouldn't worry about it and just push all the boost through it and see what happens. If you've TRULY got a T3 flange on there, then you've got nothing to lose. If it blows, you go bigger.

Well that will work too.
Im repinning the Ignitor (new terminals) and threw old plug away it was unsalvagable... its an IHI Stock square Flange on a OEM Manifold. Gotta be a better solution to the factory stud design of the factory manifold... this is the 3rd time this has happened... I hate to buy an ebay stainless manifold, but i like the idea of the T3 mount with bolts/nuts better than m8x1.25 studs.
