car hauler - i want to build this truck

got the truck home. it's a 183" wheelbase. every bit of 9 feet between cab and rear axle centerline, 159" from cab to back of frame.

not going to start building anything yet, but do plan to do a few repairs to get it safe for the road and throw a regular hitch on it to start pulling the car hauler to keep some hard miles off the avalanche.

Looks like used ones are cheap.

Just look around for blueprints and get a good welder.

A local autocrosser bought a used U-Haul multiple trailer hauling truck. It would hold three of their medium trailers when they wanted to move them in mass. He now uses it to haul his corvette.

When loaded, the rig looks pretty strange because the truck bed is all ramp at probably a 45* angle. So if you're behind him, you're looking at the top of his car.

I've seen Beck himself bring the blue 904 and a Spyder to a local PCA autocross that way on what I think was an F250 a several years ago, except he hat the spyder on the bed. The most ineeresting part was watching him back the spyder down off the truck over ramps onto the trailer and then down the second set of ramps to the ground. Pucker factor of 11.

HI there, I know this is an old topic but I wanted to say hello and see if you ever moved forward with this? I tried super hard to build a truck like this however in the end I had picked a truck that did not have a long enough wheelbase, so I am pulling the deck off and putting it on a longer chassis... So I removed the deck and bought this truck! 2000 E-450 with a 16 foot cube.... About 15,000 pound GVW so I will be far under that with my car on the deck. 7.3 TURBO diesel should work well. Removing the cube and making it an engine shed in my yard and putting my nice deck on there. I am not using the tilt as that only made the loading angle worse but my plan to make loading easier is to remove some of the 12 leafs in the pack and use air bags to adjust the ride height back up once it is loaded.
