Thought we could all share those little stats you read about in magazines that shock you. Like top speed of a bland production car. Or 1/4 time. Mpg. Etc. what did you read and go "seriously?!?!?"?
I remember reading back in 2000 car and driver did a comparison with the s2k. It spanked bmw, Mercedes, Audi, in nearly ever category. The shocker came on the sticker price. Literally half.

I believe it, my girlfriends mothers highlander has the 3mzfe (3.3l) and it's very quick out of the hole.
There was a story making the internet rounds years ago where a guy in a rental hyundai was caught going 140+. I always assumed they were a bit gutless. Looked it up and the hyundai sonata V6 had horsepower similar to the Mustang GT of the same year.
This one may not be surprising, but i got my RX8 new. City mileage rating was 16 on the sticker. Prior to break in, i got... drumroll ... 12.5 mpg. That's driving carefully.
A near stock Infiniti Q45 can beat 2/3rds of all the finishing cars in the GRM Challenge, two years in a row, in two different cars
The Phaeton (and this list could go on indefinitely) has an explosive charge on the starter battery (as opposed to the accessory battery) cable. So that if in an accident where an airbag is deployed the power is cut, literally with a bang.
edit: and ungoverned the W12 Phaeton could run at OVER 200 MPH. In a 5,000 lb sedan.

The V6 Accord, Altima and Camry will each do 0-60 in about 5.8 seconds. On more than one occasion I've had to flog my E36 M3 to keep up.

Back in my younger days (circa 2001 or so) I got smoked in my '87 4+3 Corvette buy a kid in a Nissan Maxima
My stupid little i3 is faster 0-40 then a new M3. It may actually be the fastest car to 40 that BMW makes.

So do most/all newer BMWs.
V6 Honda Accord hits 0-60 in the mid 5s and the quarter in 14 seconds +/- 0.2 (depending on doors and transmission)

It's also the least expensive car sold with a carbon composite chassis.
Is the i3 your first EV? What's your take on the car?
The E49 Valiant Charger with the Hemi 6 Pack (265ci inline six) was Australia's quickest accelerating car for 14 years.

And according to the magazines, it will do the 1/4 mile faster than my RX8 (the wife's got a V6 AWD 2012 Rav4)
In reply to The_Jed:
I thought I'd heard somewhere recently (probably here) that a 2wd 2.7 Ecoboost does 0-60 in under 6 seconds and pulls something over 25 MPGs. First thing that came to mind when I saw this thread title.
