Infiniti M45?
I would look down this road as well. You want great AC, you live in AZ. That fact alone keeps me in 6 an 8 bangers, the AC in 4s is always weak.
10 year old infinitis are pretty good deals. I see first gen 35s and 45s around 5k regularly and they look like they are worth more. G35s can be had with a clutch as well and it is not bad.
Otherwise, E46

For reasons I don't quite get, SN95 Mustangs offer almost all of the fox body goodness but for far less money and with fewer rust-out problems. IMO 1994-2000 V8 Mustangs are a bargain right now. 94-5 models even had the 302, if you're not into that multi cam mod-motor nonsense
What about keeping the Integra, add turbo + suspension? Hoon all day. Turbo B series can be made very reliable and 6k should be just enough to everything right. Unless you're looking for a change of pace. In that case, I vote 4th gen F Body.

C4 corvette...GTOs are getting close...
Ls1 camaro or firebird...ive seen them 6k and under. Best motor in an okay car! Cant beat that.
Not the fastest thing on 4 wheels but I paid $5k for a Boxster with a new engine 20k miles ago.
I say try to find an older infiniti. Super comfy and with an open exhaust they sound mean (on the v8 equipped ones.)
How about a grand marquis with some work already done? This is local, talked to the owner today and all the mods were done by a shop so documented.. Not sure how this rates.

All this fox body talk and no one mentions the mkVIII?

I flip flop between "that's the ugliest thing I've ever seen" and "I'd probably drive one"
I imagine I'd be ok with it, since you don't have to look at while driving it, plus 4 valve 4.6 and loud exhaust would probably help too.
Lsc mark 8 with 60k miles??
I think as time goes by these will get better and better looking. Keep it stock, dont try too hard.

MkVIII's are pretty fun. Plus the wrap around interior makes you feel like you're driving a spaceship.

Really?
The last time I ever even saw one of those, the guy paid $10k for it. (And it was an inline six)

And much better brakes, a nicer interior, and slightly improved suspension. They weigh a bit more and the styling hasn't aged as well, but in almost every way they are a better car than the Fox bodies.
Having said all that, I'd rather have a Fox body.

That mono block taillight tho.

Well, they saw him coming. These are $5K cars tops.

To my eyes these have aged very well. Especially these early ones, didn't care for the face lift as much though. I would love one of these for the Ohio mile.

I'm in the same boat. I really really wish I could get down with a sn95/New Edge, but they just don't do it for me. I'd much rather have the mechanically inferior Fox chassis. Make mine a notch with a warmed over 302 and 5 speed and I'd be a happy man.

Its not that ugly I mean I've seen uglier the only problem is its front end other than that its not bad looking
A Corvette will outrun a similarly powerful Camaro by 15 MPH and a similarly powerful Mustang SN95 by 20. They are also lighter, cleaner-handling, and easier on fuel.
There is a chance you can get a cosmetically rough but mechanically sound C5 for that money, but you are probably looking at LT1 or L98 C4s.
