These showed up at our June autocross. But they may or may not be what you mean:

Duke, what class did they run in? If I were safety steward I would have been a bit worried about the one with no doors and no shoulder belt.

I used to have a Datsun 620 Kingcab pick up, it was one of the most fun vehicles that I've ever owned. It had a Weber carb, homemade long tube headers and a super turbo muffler, chrome yellow with black trim, and no name brand tires that were hard as a rock. We called it RumbleBumble.

It wasn't very fast , but it was one heck of a hoonmobile. Drifts, check. Donuts, check. Hand brake turns, check. Jumps at RR crossings, check. Carry a whole rooms worth of furniture, check.

I cried when it had to be junked due to completely rusted out cab mounts. I would have bought a reproduction cab (which was available) if I could have afforded it. I'd buy another (rust free) one in a heartbeat.

The Mini Moke has all of 20 HP and is super cool.

I saw this beautiful example of an early Courier at the Portland Historic Races a few weeks back.

Ticks a few boxes.

Almost forgot that I drove this 76 or 77 long bed Toyota for a year.

It was a fun truck, despite being awful in every way imaginable. I'll own another one someday, for sure.

The yellow one was in FSP and had an internal rollbar with racing seats and harnesses. He was in FSP, I believe.

The Moke, on the other hand, was in a dedicated Minis-only class we ran at that event. Most Mokes have 20 hp, but that one had an 1175cc swap and was making just a bit more than that. However, the driver wasn't an idiot and kept all 4 wheels on the ground at all times.

620's don't do much for me for some reason. 521's on the other hand really flip my lid.

Ford Courier parts should swap onto a REPU fairly easily.

There's one of these little beasties running around the Daytona area. It's bone stock, and incredibly rust-free. I've seen it twice in the last few days. Pretty cool that it survived.....most have returned to the earth.

This is the official Eugene Oregon 60+ year old hippie mobile. They all abandoned VW's in the 80's and switched to Toyota pickups. There must be five hundred daily drivers in this area. All with support organic agriculture/kill your television/assorted grateful dead bumper stickers.

If you're in Seattle area, keep your eye out for a 1st gen Courier, they seem to go for ~$1k in running shape. They're slow as hell but they're a lot of fun and several people have dropped V8s in. I love mine and it's been pretty reliable. Cant wait to add more power. Skinny bumpers and great body lines are hard to beat, along with enough utility to haul an engine and hoist or whatever you may need.
