Since I'm sticking with the Getrag 260/M20 flywheel setup behind the M52, I figured an upgraded clutch was a good idea.
The M52 will be OBD-I, S52 cams, 540i HFM and a TRM chip.
I was thinking my M20 lightened to around 12lbs or so, + a Stage 1 Spec clutch/pressure plate would be a nice setup.
Any thoughts or other suggestions?
Wow an e30 question and not a single response.
Is this still the GRM board?
Ok, ya got me. I'd suggest an OEM Sachs M20 clutch for any N/A M/S motor.
My Spec experience is limited to the Neon world, where they didn't have a good track record (a few years back, anyways).

An oem sach's clutch would be my choice, they can handle A LOT of abuse and definitely in line with your hp requirements. Don't know if I'd take the stock flywheel down that thin. Not that I'm opposed to shaving flywheels, but that's a lot.
Metric Mechanic takes his down to 11 I believe.
I've also been told stock disc with Sachs 618pp is a very good option as well.
The 618pp is actually probably overkill for a N/A application, though it'll certainly grab. It is a fair bit pricier than a standard OEM clutch, I believe.
I have seen more broken Spec clutches then any other brand, even OEM Sachs.

Remember, the stock FW is measured in Euro pounds, so you lose a little when converted to US. theres a whole exchange rate issue, and I left my graphing calculator in my other genius suit (at the cleaners) so I cant do the math
ha! He may have a dual mass unit in there as well...
