I was calling some junk yards to find some parts for 2007 subaru impraza wagon. I need to replace the hood, driver fender, bumper cover, hood, and headlights i think. I also should replace the passenger side skirt also. I was pricing parts out and it comes to about $800 bucks. I was thinking for that price I should look at grabbing something from co-part to use for parts and when i do not use or want its easy to sell off the rest if the motor is good. Or i was thinking of using the shell for a cheap drift or autocross thing next year.
What years does anyone know would be good to look for that I could grab parts off and what would I need to do to look at co=part for a ride that has rear end damage or something. What advice from you guys for looking for at grabbing something at this point. I know a bunch of you have done it before and does anyone need parts for thier own project at this point? I am in wisconsin.
Based on the bodywork you need you will be limited to 06 and 07 Impreza's. I think you should look to U-Pull type yards, it will take a bit more patience but the savings over yards that are pulling and inventorying the parts themselves will be significant (up here in Canada it looks like your parts list would be under $300 CAD at our self serve yards).
The other option is to keep an eye out for blown up cars on whatever platform people are using to sell cars near you (shouldn't be too hard with the EJ253, I drive an 07 Legacy with the same motor lol). If you do end up with a rear ended car and the mileage isn't too much/engine sounds good there should be a decent market for it or keep it for yourself as a spare.

My first thought is to search CL/FB for people parting out Subarus.
Have you talked with this guy? Seems to have all but driver's fender.
Here in CO with Subaru being really popular there are a few dedicated parts vendors. These guys are one of the best. You may call them too just to see what they have to say.

As right now its more thoughts then anything for prices to get an idea of what I need for cash to spend. This way I can get some money saved up to find the parts or a extra var. I wll keep on eye on facecrack then for blown motor cars.
