The season is ending for many of you out there. Any cool plans for this weekend?
I need to clean up the 240SX on Sunday so we can find a new owner for it. I'm bummed but it's our reality.
Saturday is a BMX day for me.

Downtown Lexington Saturday night. Largest zombie walk in the world, taking the kids to watch to parade.
Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs,
Well, No.
Replacing a u-joint, reinstalling the half shaft, and cleaning the garage... that is not very cool
Bringing the 4-year old grandson and 3-year old granddaughter out to Hallett tomorrow! The 4 year old is already hopelessly hooked on road racing, and declared at the June session, "I just HAVE to do this! I HAVE to race!!!". The 3-year old has been expressing great interest in sporty looking cars and fighter jets the last six months, or so, so it's time to introduce her the racing scene as well.
Is it too soon to start looking for a couple of 52cc class Kid Kart setups???
I need to fabricate a bike rack for the bed of my truck, and I need to finish cleaning my garage. And get a motorcycle ride in. And take my son to travel soccer. And clean the gutters. berkeley.
Been preparing for the onslaught of WINTER all week (wife suggested we move to southern California last night). So weekend is more of the same. Miata is winterized, clean and covered for the next 5-6 months. Tacoma has fresh oil/filter/ plugs (30,000 miles??) and Altimax Artics. CX-5 received 1st oil/filter (the oil drain plug and oil filter are accessible thru the same access and within inches of each other) and Blizzaks. Now it is time to winterize outdoor equipment and check snow throwers for readiness, store bikes and kayaks and break out the snow shoes and cross country skis.
Front end work on the whole fleet, an alignment on the Vic tomorrow, and I need to find time to rip the washer apart too.
As the season ender, our region is teaming up with a local British car club for a Halloween road rally Sunday. Original plan was to take the lifted Miata, but the Vic needs some kinks figured out and is warmer, so I'm going to pretend it's an MGB wearing a costume.
THe weather has been absolute crap around here all week. I have tons of stuff to do but I am stir-crazy as berkeley. I need to get outside and play when it's light out.
Last weekend on track for the season for me! I'm running Palmer Saturday and doing my first Time Trial on Sunday there as well.
I am stressing a bit though because I decided that I was just gonna camp at the track to save some money, and I forgot that it's New England in October and supposed to be 30 degrees at night... so that part is going to suck. Whatever. It's track time.
Reassembling this lovely thing tonight.
... And selling the Celexus tomorrow. I feel you on selling the 240, David. Sometimes it just makes sense. This will be the fourth car in four weeks that I've let go.
I have major problems with my sewer main so this weekend the contractors will be demolishing my bathroom, front porch, yard, and cutting a trench through my freshly repaved driveway! I may prep my car for autox next weekend and install some new side skirts I got as a bday gift a while back.
Finally decent weather for autocross. The last Porsche Club event was cancelled because not enough people wanted to stand in a parking lot in 100 degree heat. Only supposed to be 86 on Saturday so half of the people will be wearing jackets. Instructing for the PCA is fun.
Fix broken axle in truck, requires new ujoint, ball joints, spindle bearings, disconnect seal, hub bearing and disconnect axle. In the driveway. On jack stands. I've got my work cut Out for me.
Some guys coming to look at the Ramcharger and a guy coming to buy all my leftover 020 transmissions. Hope he has a pickup.
No cool weekend plans, just got to do some work on the house and yard before winter. And relax a bit, I've been rather stressed recently.
just got back from a long press trip with the ND V8. Leave for SEMA on Monday, then I'm back on the road with the ND again.
So this weekend is all about catching up. Winterize the swamp coolers, fix stuff, you know.
Work as be extremely busy, so I'm probably working part of it.
Then, helping with the front brakes on my son's Explorer.
Then, maybe figuring out the vibration in the XJ's driveshaft.
Then, if I'm lucky, I get to put a little time in on SanFord.
I'm going to rallycross my RX-7 for the first time since early 2015 and see how much it sucks to drive a 270hp car with an open diff. I took out the 175lb rear springs in favor of some 110-ish pound springs, so that should help.
Trailer's hooked up, fuel tank is full, GPS stuck to the windshield, cookies in the passenger seat, just need to get a few hours of sleep and then see about driving 227 miles before 8am. At least it won't be silly noisy, as I applied four cans of muffler putty to the various cracks in the exhaust system and then wrapped the whole mess with some shockingly expensive exhaust wrap to hold it together.
Ooh, need to remember to charge the GoPro and put the helmet clip in the bag. Good job, Current Me! Future Me will give you a cookie.
Since I got word yesterday that I was selected for a promotion, I am working what I hope is my last set of night shifts ever. Then Thursday I am going to pick up my new Transit cab chassis truck.
We should have one of these posted every Monday, so I can check in through the week and see all the different stuff that I too should be doing. I have made a checklist for Saturday. Thank guys!
