Since I yearn for the approval of my peers...
I mock up all my liveries on gran turismo's livery editor. Then apply them IRL. What you guys think?
here's the real life application.
Keep in mind the white band between the blue and black hasn't been applied yet because it needs time to cure before tape can be added for masking. It's about 10° Outside right now, so this is the best pic you get.

Here's the previous livery, yuck. I was experimenting. Please forgive.
and here's the original car paint.
That's a good way to test out paint schemes.
It looks good, but it looks *better* with the wheels in the proof of concept.

Right. I have a set of white nb 15" awaiting rubber.
GT is great for that (and it super cheap now). I created a GRM sticker for GT that you will obviously want. You should be able to search for it.
Regarding the car, I am a bit concerned the blue on the actual car is a bit dark and may not contrast enough with the black.
A way to jazz it up might be to make the diagonal stripe a checker pattern. Of course I just like checker patterns.
Bringing what you made to reality
A+ job
Personally I'd have done the whole nose in white and just done the horizontal in black.
But that's just my own personal taste.
So props for making a design and then bringing it to life. Well done!

Yeah. It is a really bad contrast without something between the black and blue. I like the checkered idea.
Moderate amount of checkered pattern screams race car.
I would make the mirrors and windshield surround white.
The blue you put on looks darker than your render. Maybe the stripe will separate it from the black more? In the render the silver door handle and silver wheels break up the monolithic nature of the two dark colors more? All in all it's good, but you won't really know until it's done.
I hate the way it looks in GT. The blue, white, black, then white again totally destroys the lines of the car. You have to look close to even tell it’s a Miata. The easy button mono color like mainlandboy posted looks way better.
sorry. You did ask.
I was hoping that the middle was actually navy blue rather than black but overall, I like it. Will look even better when the white stripe is added.

5 lug wheels suck.
Otherwise, sweet.
Yeah those were the closest wheels to what I had in the real world.
I could add a different color over the black. (The beauty of plastidip). The fourth color I have going on this car is a lime green, thus the darker blue. I want to add a little lime to the livery, but can't think of where.
Given the splatter paint of blue and green, I think the green should be added next to the blue.
Maybe:
From rear:
- blue
- green
- thin white (half as thick as green)
- black
- white
Do the mirrors in the green

I could see running a thin green pinstripe along the edge of both the black and the green where they border the white.

Yep, black and blue. Sorry.
Yes, mirrors should be some color other than black.

White? I have plenty of that left.
