Newly rebuilt motor, did the first oil change and after that it started leaking from the plug.  Not a lot but enough to annoy me.  At the second change I looked closer and the plug gasket/oring is not tight against the pan for about 30 degrees. I used some teflon thread tape and 2 gaskets so now no leak but way annoying.  Builder used a new pan, probably some crap chinese piece.  Not on talking terms with him, besides he is 300 miles away.  Any suggestions or do I use 2 seals and tape for the life if the car?

Maybe install a drain valve like a Fumoto with whatever it takes for it not to leak? Then you won't have to mess with the threads again.

How about using an oversize drain plug?  Essentially recut the threads in the pan straight? Gotta be easier than pulling the pan...

Or this stainless steel version?

Thanks I like the piggyback and valve option.  Much easier than replacing the oil pan.
