I went with a '94 Lancer GSR Evo II just because I found a good one that had already been imported to Ottawa. To my eye, these look the best and have enough creature comforts to make them a viable street car: Recaro SRD seats, automatic climate control, ABS, power windows, rear window wiper, etc.

The hottest CE9A is the Evo III. There were changes to the exhaust manifold and O2 housing that allow for quicker spooling and 21 psi boost in stock form. Also has a more aggressive aero package (I'm personally not a fan of the looks, but it's all functional).
For maximum JDM hipster points, you'll want an RS version of any of them. You give up creature comforts, but they're a lot lighter.
