Should post this over at CM, but it will get more play here.

The back looks like a Porsche. The front looks like it hit a wall. Kind of cool in a different sort of way. I'd drive it. Was it ever imported into the states?
It looks like it has a 1.6 or 1.7 liter engine. Any idea what kind of power it makes? I left my German with a high school teacher somewhere.
Several years ago, I saw 4 or 5 of those sitting in a row at a McDonald's in Sao Paulo. Rear engined, air cooled V-dub power. Actually look pretty nice in the flesh. I worked with a guy ,here in Michigan, who brought one back after his expat assignment to Brazil.
I lusted after one in my ACVW days. I've seen precisely one, at Brit Bits in Rye, NH, 9-10 years ago.
funny.. I was over at Target and Hotwheels has that same car.. in that same colour.. it is right now sitting on my desk.
Yeah, I read about it many years ago in a magazine about some ACVW meet. I've loved them since.
I also picked up a hotwheels the other day.
I can see a lot of influnces in the design. The front is obviously 412.. with the tailights being porche units flipped upside down.
The overall shape reminds me of the Lancia Fulvia Zagato Sport
Im entirely too much of a VW geek because I have seen/heard of them. Still a pretty cool little car.
I'm not a VW geek and I've heard of them. But then again they were pretty much the holy grail of ACVW in the classic VW scene in Germany when I was in my teens/early twenties.
I'm still feeling weird for having grown up in Germany and getting my license in the 80s, and never owning an ACVW. But then again, the mother of a friend of mine tended to pick us up from the communal swimming pool in one of these:
That was probably enough rear engined air cooled car for a long time.
Mangusta was the first thing I thought of too. Butt somehow it wasn't right, then when I saw the VW logo I got confused.
