I am looking for a system to "easily and safely" raise my cars quickly. Considering Kwik Lift, EZ Lift and Quick Jack (GRM & CM advertiser. Recommendations?

kriba,

You may have a better response if you post this on the main GRM forum. Our Shop Talk forum is more of a place where you'll see inside looks at our advertisers shops, be offered discounted products, and learn more about our advertiser's services.

Aside from the few positives in that thread, I haven't been able to find any glowing support here for it.

Read through the thread Yamaha posted. I was one of the ones giving glowing support for it. We use one for our LeMons team and love it. No quality issues with it, it's easily portable and super handy.

I did this exercise a couple of months ago and chose EZ Car Lift. I don't like Kwiklift because of the added hassle to get the wheels off (to me it's great for a detail shop). EZ is more expensive, but I liked the fact that I can still access from the sides and the infinite lift height. I've found that a lot of jobs I prefer a height other than max. I'll raise a car 3-4 inches when working under the hood and it puts things at a much more comfortable height. It's slow to raise - probably about a minute. In the garage in relaxing hobby mode it doesn't matter much, but at the track I probably wouldn't have the patience, so decide how you will use it.

Whatever you do, choose something. I wish I would have done this years ago. It makes wrenching so much more enjoyable.

If you want something that's easily portable, then the QuickJack is pretty much the only choice. Mine works great.

If portability is not a major concern, then some of the other garage lift solutions offer different tradeoffs, such as increased access, taller lifting heights, etc.

I bought one of the first Quickjacks and I still love it. It's a Godsend working in the confined space that is my crowded garage.

In reply to glueguy: Does the EZ Car Lift have a mechanical lock to ensure safety while under the car? If so, how adjustable is it? I would assume that it does have one, but I was looking at their website and didn't see any mention of this.

There is no mechanical lock - it is a worm gear that by design won't spontaneously unwind

It's getting harder and harder to resist the siren song of a shop lift. Of those 3, I think that EZ sounds the best - but is the priciest. This lacks the portablity, and I'd be concerned about quality at this price point, but Damn!

$1,225!:
