I just face timed a seller 2800 miles away.  Got to see everything as I instructed him where to point the camera.  Asked question in real time as I saw things.  Worked out great because the seller wasn't very knowledgeable about the car he was trying to sell.  Even found holes in the floor and on the rear parcel shelf where there was obviously a roll bar mounted at one point.  Saw headers on the car and the seller didn't even know what headers were.  Most importantly, found out there was no VIN plate on the drivers door as there should be.  Guessing when PO repainted the car, the tag was removed and never reinstalled.  Major bargaining chip there.  I'll pay full price if it shows up, or knock off a bunch if it doesn't.  Still has windshield VIN and a clean title.

What is it?  I did the FaceTime inspection on a bronco about 800 miles away.  Worked out well!

I walked a guy through wiring up up an engine this way. Worked pretty good. Sometimes....SOMETIMES, technology actually works for our benefit.

Its a TR8.  Ran the VIN number thru the club and it comes back a sa real TR8, but silver and not red.  So, either the factory records are wrong, the car has been rebodied, or repainted.  I saw no evidence of a color change, and if it was rebodied, it was painstakingly done.  Evberything is hanging on him finding the commision/VIN tag for the door.

I'm glad to hear it's working well for a car purchase since nothing I want to buy lives close to me. before we were married, my wife used to do home repairs that way with her brother 1,000 miles away instructing her.
