Anyone on board driven at Calabogie, in ON? That's my goal for next year.
I've raced at Bridgehampton (gone, but not forgotten), Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, Summit Point (main circuit), Shenandoah (a hoot in a Sprite), NHMS, Shannonville (flat!), BeaveRun (lots of runoff areas), NJMP (Lightning circuit), NJMP (Thunderbolt circuit), the Englishtown, NJ Road Course (teeny-tiny) and all the Ponono circuits (North, South, East and Long).
I like them all for different reasons, but the main circuit at Summit Point is my favourite.
BeaveRun and Watkins Glen are close.
Lime Rock is a nice destination, but the actual track is over-rated in my opinion.
I think Pocono gets a bad rap...for driving, I'd take Pocono North and South over Lime Rock any day.
Hope to add Mont Tremblant, VIR, Mid-Ohio and Mosport.
Lots of other great places, but too far to pull from New Jersey.
The road course at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). It's a medium speed technical track that doesn't reward HP as much as cornering speed. It's great for momentum cars, with good elevation changes & 12 turns of varying speeds in 1.65 Mi.
But I like it most because it's close to home.
My list of tracks I've either raced or done an HPDE in order of favoritness
VIR
CMP
Watkins Glen (long course)
Summit Point
NHMS (road course)
Shannonville
Roebling Road
My dream tracks to run some day include
Road Atlanta
Leguna Seka
Road America
Mid Ohio
And or course the Nurbergring
aeronca65t - Come on down to VIR, you won't regret it.
Raced / crewed / officiated at many, but my favorites are:
Bridgehampton (end thread)
Of the tracks still actually OPEN, though, I liked: VIR Summit Point (the main track, no lover for the others at all)
Places I can live without: Lime Rock CMP WGI
Places I haven't raced but want to: Road America Laguna Seca
And one place I flagged over the summer and really want to turn some laps in anger at: Momticello Motorsports Park
