I am troubleshooting the turn signals on my 88 RX7. There is a connector under the dash that looks like it could be related based on wire colors but I can't find anything nearby that would connect to it. Does anyone have any idea that this connects to?
From what I can remember, all that stuff runs through a body module of some sort mounted on the inside of the DS door hinge area. Is everything plugged in on that?
Yes, the flasher unit/CPU box has all the connectors plugged in. This connector is right in that area and looks like it should plug to something nearby that box but I can't see any mate for it.
The hazards work but the turn signals do not. I have two turn signal switches and tried them both, opened up one and cleaned all the contacts with no change.
The turn signal wires on the flasher box do not have 12v when the turn signal switch it applied, If I apply 12v to the wires the flasher clicks normally and both turn signal indicators on the instrument cluster flash.
I started looking at it again after I talked to Shawn at nationals about it. He said "did you plug them back in?" Uhh, I think so?
Hmm. I'm really not sure if I'm remembering correctly, there might have been a body harness connector there clipped to the unibody or something? Maybe look for a mating connector that somebody tucked out of sight?
I dug through the wiring manual and turns out this connector is for cruise control, totally unrelated to my issue.

Everything I remember unplugging was in the rear. I might have even hooked them back up when I switched from flat towing to trailering the car but I don't remember.
Of course I have no clue if the turn signals ever worked while I had the car.
Everything looks hooked up in the rear, I was just hoping I had missed something and it was an easy fix. From my previous diagnostics it seems like a bad switch.
Would you like the factory manual for a 1990 Rx7?
I will ship to you for the shipping cost.

I appreciate the offer but I have the 88 manual on PDF. I didn't think to look at it for this until after I posted.
