Like I've said before, this could be my next car if the promise is fulfilled.
Kind of looks like a mad cat about to bite you.

I'm torn, for sure.
that, focus, or miata (unless we make a 4 cyl drop top, then the choice has been made...)
Cool, but assuming they sell it here, would it be a 3-door as shown, or would they do the ST treatment to the 5-door?
How would it stack up against an (equally rumored) turbo Veloster?
In reply to alfadriver: Well, get on it, man. Make Ford bring back the Capri (preferably based on the '70s version, not the '90s).
Ford's are looking pretty good... I just need to see them for sale on the lot. Most of my life savings is about to be put into building a house though
oh i'm sure we'll only get the fattest ugliest version. seems to be the most common trend... hopefully broken this time around.
Has there been an official GRM comparison between the MS2 and the Fiesta, I would be uber-interested.

Yep. Those two and the CR-Z. It was a couple issues back.
Ford has said they MIGHT build this for sale in the U.S., but no word on whether it would be 3 or 5 door. Someone in Ford's marketting dept. seems to think Americans want small sedans, even Fiesta and Focus sized cars, as that is what the build and inventory on dealers lots is. So far, I've seen nearly as many sedan Fiestas as hatchbacks on the road.
Funny, every Fiesta I've seen on the road has been the hatch. Maybe I'm not noticing the sedans, though.
If they happen at all, I'll bet the Fiesta ST announcement will come within 96 hours one way or another of the rumored CR-Z Si announcement. My gut feeling is that the Fiesta ST would steal from the same market Ford is looking for in the new Focus.
In a somewhat related topic, I'm pretty fond of my new Mazda2. Is it slow? Yes, at least compared to the turbo Miata or the WRX. Is it fun? Very much so, maybe more fun to drive than the WRX. (Blasphemy? I has it.)
I heard a rumor that the problems in Japan have put the Mazda2 concept off the table for the near future, but I'd love to find out that my source was wrong. In the meantime, I'll work on my own version. If the proposed changes for ST class autocrossing go through, I'm seriously considering an effort for 2012. There's plenty of room for big rubber under there.

It's not hard to miss the sedans. They look pretty anonymous from behind.
I really liked these...
... until I sat in one and with the seat all the way back my knees touched the dash and my head touched the roof.
In reply to jstein77:
15x9, +36 offset. They work great on the Miata, but work less well on the Deuce. It was an experiment.
jstein77 wrote: What up with the offset on those wheels?
That's just an autox fitment
Back OT - I'd actually consider a Fiesta down the road if they offered it in the 3-door. I'm just not hot about 5-doors in general (BMW - pleeeaaasse bring the 3-dr 1-series hatch! [I know it won't happen])
Actually, the wheels look pretty good! It's the "reverse stretch" treatment that looks a little goofy
Is that "anti-stance" fitment? Does that amount of tire roll on the rim in corners?
On a serious note, what would you do to make it into an ST Fiesta?
there is gonna be a turbo velostar and a turbo elantra. confirmed by my old gm from when i worked for hyundai.

Methinks you may want to try going four wheeling before you change that setup.
Seriously, that thing needs to be lower. Is that seriously stock ride height?
