There's a guy that runs a red roadster in SSM locally.  Not sure what's gone on under the hood, but fat Hoosiers help. It looks fun to drive.

I could have bought one of these for almost nothing a few months ago, but I'd already decided that a 911 was what I really wanted. The wife had agreed to another project, but getting 2 in 2 months would have put a strain on the marriage, so I passed on the running and driving low mile TT quatro coupe for $800 that just needed a clutch job and some paint.

I wish I'd had the bandwidth for the car, I think it would have been a ton of fun, but that's how things go.

Fantastic cars. I've owned 2 a 1.8t and a vr6. Same chassis I daily a Golf R.

Regarding the topic of the TT in general, I recently saw an article/interview with the designer of the TT on carbuzz.com, and the car was almost a Porsche, but the folks at Porsche and Audi apparently didn't play well together.

I would talk to Freeman Thomas often at car shows and he always loved the retro look of things which you can see in the TT with the baseball glove seats etc , 

I think Freeman is now involved with the new Meyers Manx EV dune buggy.
