That's because the performance of an a4 allroad is a quarter as impressive as the RS6. (although there is the A6 allroad, again with much less performance bang than the RS6)

Looks like good news if you want to buy one CPO in a few years!

I read a story from somewhere else about how the touring is selling better than anticipated.  Because it's a hybrid it ends up that the M5 touring actually costs less than an M3 touring in some EU countries.

A station wagon for 120+k???  I bet they sell less than 1,000 of these. Like other manufacturers they have lost there way falling into the Hootis measuring contest of my HP is bigger than yours and my Nurburgring time is faster.

Take that car and give a couple of optional propulsion solutions that are sub 350hp and transmission options and offer it in a much lower trim level (and much lighter) and bring the price down to around 60k. Even at 60k it is not a car for the un washed masses. It is a car for the enthusiasts or top 20 percenters.

The problem with this is while people say they would purchase a wagon end up in a CUV or SUV. I think Buick was the last manufacturer to offer a wagon and the only thing it did well was help Buick dealers sell there CUV/SUV stock.  The wagons sat on the lots.

I applaud BMW for keeping the wagon alive. It is going to be a rare car in the future. We will see these at the Auctions.

A new Boost Control function enables a nearly instantaneous burst of speed when travelling between 20 and 90 mph. Pulling on the left-hand shift paddle for more than one second prompts all the powertrain and chassis systems to be switched to their sportiest setting. An alert on the information display indicates that this function has been initiated. When the driver pushes down hard on the accelerator, the M5 responds with immediate and truly ferocious acceleration.

3 honks to Mexico feature loaded in it from factory, nice.

The Audi also weighs less: 4982 pounds versus the M5 Touring's 5530 pounds–a difference of nearly 550 pounds.

Those are both grotesque. They managed to build wagons but make them weigh as much as SUVs? The M5 Touring is 300lbs heavier than my F-250.

My '76 Power Wagon weighs 5600lbs, and that's with the heavy-duty spring package, 4WD, solid axles, a big-block Mopar, and a flatbed.

Must be the batteries.

I would love to see a non-M, non-hybrid wagon for us plebs that don't have house money to spend on cars...

I really like it, but you can also get lowering springs on a x5 or x3 and have the station wagon vibe right now on the used market for a whole lot less.

For example-

I agree, i was sitting in traffic beside an X5 the other day and I couldn't help thinking how much better it would look if it saw a few inches lower.  It looks strange with that 4x4 gap between the tires and fender on low-profile tires.

Even the competition models are guilty of this, guess it's an SUV thing..

I know it's subjective and in the eye of the bee holder and all that, but i think the RS6 Avant looks better.
