We will see how the race shakes out. I don't think Seb Vet will do very well in the traffic situations. He just can't keep his cool.
I have a feeling with a year and success under his belt that Seb will be something special this year. I just wish I could say that about Mark.
I think I can now say, Seb has come of age, what a great drive this was in Barcelona
His tire situation was great, and he did hold off Hammy with some great strategy.
What a start for Alonso though, I was crowing like a mad man! He is clearly driving that car above it's capabilities. I wish it was better on hard tires though!
Monaco, I am trying to talk the wife into going to this one some day.
The Vettel steamroller goes on, wild ride for Perez, I was afraid for him for a while there.

ditto.... especially when they brought out the tarp.... and then the ambulance going slowly.....
Hopefully Petrov will recover quickly.

Today's was a fantastic race with an anti-climatic finish; the red flag tire changes and repairs were totally unexpected. But, rules are rules, so c'est la vie.
I sure would have loved to see the race without the red flag as the drama was really building with that three car train at the front and the driver with the best tires was third. And then there was that constant drama-fest produced by Hamilton.
Petrov seems to have had minor injuries to his legs but I really hate it when the safety team rushes to bring out the sheets. That really puts a sinking feeling in the pit of many stomachs.
I don't think Vettel would have won if there had not been a red flag. His tires were rooted, and Alonso was nose to tail with him, and Button was charging hard. Lucky break for Vettel, he now has a 60ish point lead in the championship... It will be tough to overcome that for anyone else.
Will Hamilton receive another penalty for the Maldonado incident at Ste Devote? In my opinion, he should. It was very similar to his penalized incident at the hairpin.

Looked more like a racing incident where one driver had a better line and the other just refused to back-off. Hamilton had earlier completed the same pass against Schumacher. The difference was that Schumi knew he was beat; Maldonado, not so much.
That said, Hammy definitely pulled a bone-headed, banzai move at the hairpin; he earned that drive-thru . Massa, otoh, should never have drifted onto the marbles in the tunnel. If he had pulled in behind he would have stayed on track.
Smart guys making stupid decisions. Makes racing interesting, doesn't it?
Except that who ever it was in front of Massa went wide, and Massa cut down early to avoid their slowing car.
I am just glad that Alonso didn't win.
I have to say Hamilton had a horrific race, he drove badly, was involved in several near misses and two (at least) impacts with other cars, not the performance of a World Champion.
He seemed almost desperate
Webber just cannot get a break, 37 second pit stop, lost yet another place on the standing start.
In reply to aussiesmg:
I think you nailed it, the moves WERE desperate. I can only imagine what it would be like to be a world chamion and have a car that was almost there, but not quite.
I guess no other track reveals desperation like Monaco.
Button is my favorite driver, been a fan since the BAR Honda days. Watching him charge towards the front gaining over a second a lap on VET and ALO was thrilling! But then all of his hard work and risky strategy calls with tires got thrown out the window when the red flag came out.
Hopefully the rule changes in the future. No car should be touched at all during a red flag.

Hammy should have been parked after diving in on Massa at the hairpin. He's lucky he didnt end the race of everyone in and coming into that corner. No reason to be dangerious just because you're slow. He showed once again he lacks mental control of himself when losing, proven by him blaming Massa for turning in on him after the fact.
After race interview with Hamilton "They hate me because I am black"
Aperently I was wrong, Massa should have gone into the outside wall to let him through, and the FIA hates him because he is black (and not because he pulls stupid moves hoping they will move out of the way to avoid being hit.)
Its funny, because I was a pretty big fan of him until this season...

He said it in a joking manner with a little laugh, but those are some classless comments there by Hamilton. He drives with desperation when behind and makes stupid decisions then wants to blame other drivers for having the nerve to be on the same track as him.
When you play the race card there is no joke intended ever, in recent times it is usually meant to derail the issue from any pertinent facts and make it personal.

Then again, many people used to say the same thing about Senna.
I agree with everything Hamilton said there. And some of you need to retune your joke detector.

I sent you an e-mail. I probably should have texted too. I was forced to road trip to Michigan last weekend. I will definitely be there for the remainder of the season, however.
