So, I just left Ottawa. Probably the same day the drivers came in. I need to plan better.

Bummer - wanted to hit the Canadian GP but instead a friend in Dallas had to go and get married. Enroute there now, hoping The Dallas Cars n Coffee is still the first Sat of the month.

Almost to the Canadian GP weekend.

I am looking forward to qualifying to see if the Renault engine guys are any closer. I posted a while back that Ferrari seems to be on the edge of imploding or success. Canada feels like a milestone, if Red bull and MB beat them again then they might start falling apart. I surely hope Carlos Sainz has a great race he is like Perez in just not getting good press or talk about getting a big team seat. JEV was the same I guess, only so much room at the top.

HASS!! Where did you guys go?! Need to finish both cars in the points!

I lost hope for Williams. Good luck Sir Frank.

Hamilton on pole for Canadian GP. Top 5 separated by only .6 seconds.

This was one of the few times I've been able to catch qualifying to actually watch things and I'm glad I did. Pretty exciting to see like every 3rd car just kissing the wall of champions. Whoever aimed the cameras there well done.

Looks like the race is coming on NBC Sports now due to the Orlando shooting coverage.

I'm watching it on a spanish station. Can't understand anything, but they don't break for commercials Running the F1 live timing at the same time, it's a good way to watch.

That was 2 moves by Verstappen on Rosberg. They better penalize him!

Good lord, this is two races in a row where the Mercedes make tires last forever. It's like lotus a few years back. I cannot believe Lewis pulled that off. Cool little thumbs up to Vettel after the finish.

Hell of a start from Vettel. And I love seeing Bottas on the podium.

Nico: you need to tell me what all these warnings mean on my wheel.
Engineer, limited by the regulations: they're real (thinking, you need to study)

No it wasn't, Rosberg just went it too stinking hot!

Mad Max ran a fantastic race, as did Sainz.

David Hobbs called it! I was watching it on the Spanish channel. I then watched it on dvr and David saw what I did

He blocked inside then went outside. TWO MOVES!

It was not. Max left him MORE than enough room around the outside. Rosberg bit off more than he could chew.

The chat between Vettel and Lewis after the race was hilarious. "Did you see the seagull? I was watching the seagull and locked up..."

I think Rosberg was way over committed when Verstappen makes the second move anyway.

Nico just outbraked himself there. He was trying the same deep braking move he pulled on Kimi, but was on old tires/had less fuel load on the rear tires so it snapped on him.

They had different opinions. Actually it was only Matchett, and I'm not a fan of his. Diffeey stayed out of it.

I was waiting for the Nico interview but didn't catch it on tv. Lewis seemed very matter of fact about them banging wheels.

Good chess match between Ferrari and Mercedes.

Love how cool Vettle and Hammy were chatting afterwards.

What happened to Martin Brundle, why was Paul DiResta commentating instead this weekend.

Absolutely unberkeleyingbelivable move by Vettle at the start to go around both Mercs like that. Hammy then mind berkeleyed Nico and Nico never got his head back in the game after that. E36 M3 or bust move against Max on the last lap, can't blame him for trying though. Wish it hadn't cost him another place, would have been great if he could have just collected it and maintained he position.

He said that he was upset at the time, but called it an aggressive racing move. I imagine that's the end of it until he has the chance to do it back...

Any idea if they replay it? I was out and DVR'd the news coverage of the shooting. Direct tv said it was supposed to be on at 8:00 but it was women's golf!

I thought the start was pretty incredible by Vettel. It just seems that MB is lost on how to get their starts down for both cars. Rosberg definitely has better starts than Hamilton.

Hamilton just left no room for Rosberg. Which is probably a better idea than leaving almost enough room and end up with Rosberg on the grass spinning into Hamilton. Hamilton complained about understeer and the only reason I will give him that is because in turn 2 he is also very slow getting on the power due to understeer. Watched the replay and it seems he just can't turn the car in like Vettel in front or any other cars behind.

Hamilton managed his tires very well. He seemed to turn just the right times to make his victory a reality. He was just pulling in Vettel after his pitstop and after a few laps of that I felt he was going to be just fine to the end of the race. The only problems being rain or SC. Still it wasn't like he could turn down the engine, he had to push the whole way.

Vettel seemed to just go into try anything mode near the end. Great spirit. I like him more at Ferrari than I did at RB. Still on the don't like side of my scale though.

The battle with Verstappen and Rosberg was fun. Rosberg in a used up MB just barely could match the RB. I agree with one of the commentators that he should have been able to dust off Verstappen the first time he tried. He needed to dust him off. As any multi lap battle with Verstappen will end in a spin and/or carbon debris. Moments like these put a bad light on Rosberg that he kind of doesn't deserve.

Alonso looked to be the biggest loser today. He just looked beaten down during the interviews post race. Just done.

All and all I think I came away from the first part of this season VERY confused as to why they would change all the rules in 2017. Just a few tenths of the fastest lap ever at the track and great racing getting better.

There were two big schedule mixers this weekend. The terrible crime in Orlando and the rain delay in the indy car race. So everything just went screwy.

The best place to go is probably NBCSN LIVE. If you have any cable TV account you can watch for free. The commercials are plenty, but at least you can watch it anytime. All you have to do is go to the site. If you are on your home internet it may auto recognize that you have cable TV and let you watch it. Otherwise it will ask you to select your cable TV provider (comcast, at&T, Fios, etc) you log in and then you are granted access.
