Did they stop making it, nowhere seems to carry it now?

Or does anyone know where I can get some?

Anyone have experience with a good substitute?

Interesting, Google isn't even showing their website anymore (I couldn't remember the exact address). Clicking the Amazon hit on Google for it takes you to a "page not found." That's a shame, I was a fan of the stuff.

Weird!

Maybe that means the partial bottle I have that I purchased last year has just significantly gone up in value!!

I'm considering "Goat P" or a few "mix your own" solutions...  either that or just deal with being slower until I get modded what I need to fit the wider wheels with new tires I have waiting.

Its just this was the stuff I knew and that everyone I knew (that used something) used...  I dont like being an innovator on this...

Formula V isn't/wasn't a softener. It wouldn't make a tire any faster than it was when it was new; what it did was help rejuvenate some of the goodness lost to age and heat cycles.

Isn't formula v used as track prep too? Or is that something different?

I have had varying results with tire softening treatments.

One of the early compounds resulted in the tire sticking to the road surface so it was hard to budge it when pushing.

I recall another guy that figured he had the latest demon tweak - he soaked his treads in kerosene.  While it definitely softened his old race tires, unfortunately it rained during the race and he quickly exited backward into the tulies.

I used formula V years ago on old V710s and had good results.  Not quite new tire, but certainly better for an event.

In reply to Apexcarver :

Avoid goat pee for Street tires. I used that stuff on kart tires and after every run, Had to bathe the tires in WD-40 just from keeping the rubber from drying out. Track Tac Red works as good but keeps the tires oiled and won't give you Cancer.

Used Formula V once on a toasted set of Hoosier A6s for AX.  Noxious stuff, took a bunch of applications and the results weren't great.  FIrst run out they felt like they were greased - I spun 720 and took out a tire wall.  Runs 2-4 weren't bad, but by run 6 they were back to hockey pucks.  Too much hassle for a minimal gain.
