Funny thing about Readers' Rides

Despite all the love for Miatas around here, Miatas in Readers' Rides don't get the votes (except for Keith's Targa Miata). Too common?

Mine is the 3rd highest rated Miata! Woohoo!

I think it's because everyone here has one and it's hard to make one stand out over another.

I bet you Elvis would garner a lot of votes

Seriously though, I don't think there's enough traffic there right now. I try to look at some every now and again but I haven't seen many comments, etc or big movements in voting in general.

Also you can't search for just Miata's, you get all Mazda's. Doesn't bother me but making a search by model might be cool for others.

I'll put Elvis up there, we'll see what happens :)

There's a quite a bit of traffic, and who's getting the votes and comments changes a fair bit. I know there's people who don't ever get off the board, but they're just missing out (and on a lot more than just Readers Rides).

I'd like to have model AND make, but getting all the makes in is just a monolithic project and I haven't figured out a good way to do it yet.

The most obvious solution is let users add them, but I'm pretty sure that while someone would put do right and just put in "Miata", the next guy would put in "NB Miata", or "V8 Miata" or "Monster Miata", and the next guy would want "MX5" instead of Miata, the next would add "Miata LS" or "Miata SE" and pretty soon you've got 50 different Miata entries and it's no better than it is now.

I like the Reader's Rides. Whatever you do I'm sure will be good. I would like a model thing, maybe start with just the super common ones? (Miata, Neon, Mustang)

My MR2 is listed as a Toyota Terrarium, I couldn't select that from a pull down list of models, also my MR2 is so much more than just an old MR2.
