Mazda2 1.5L makes 100hp stock.
Mine with a tune from Dynotronics put out 97whp on a NASA approved Dynojet.
You'd need to run Megasquirt or similar most likely since the stock ECM is tied into a BCM, cluster, EPS, etc.
I used to have a Mazda2 and would love that swap. There is a rain damage salvage one near by for just under $1500. Tempting but I'm perhaps too cheap.

In reply to No Time :
They make like 60 hp and zero aftermarket support.
I have a 1000cc Vtwin in my awd Justy, build thread to pop up soon.
Oh - looking forward to that!

Swift GTi donor car seems like a smart ticket, assuming one can be found. They mostly all seem gone at this point.
This!
I am obsessed with the idea of a g13b swap as it is an easy 100hp that is small enough to still be able to use the stock mini suspension. Alas they are all gone from CL within 300 miles of here
I'm betting there is considerably more room in the bay of your detomaso than a mini.

Cams and a tune + nearly 9k rev limiter is a nice little pkg
4g32 or 4g32t? They're like single cam versions of the 4g63. You can find them in mirages and colts. Tough and powerful little engines.
