I haven't had a chance to read it all but the Challenge coverage was great. I wish somebody with decent video skills would make a DVD of the event.

I got mine in the mail today and devoured it. While I love every issue (though I did let my sub lapse for a bit shameface), the GRM crew really pulled out the stops with this one.
Thanks you guys. All the magazines that come out from about Thanksgiving through the end of February are just utter ballbusters for us. Basically we're jamming out one magazine or another (or calendars, or God knows what) every 2-3 weeks for a couple months while doing end of the year business stuff, trade shows, and somehow still trying to maintain family relationships. It's nice to hear a few kind words about stuff that happens during this stretch.

He's right...really good stuff. Challenge, low budget build tips, datsun content....I'm happy. This issue is great
Also liked it. I liked Tim talking about blowing up engines. Project cars sometimes feel very nuts and bolts, but having two engines let go was very humanizing. Not the failures really, but the writing really communicated the frustration well. It was good. Also liked SF1's Escort. Needs to run. Needs to look pretty. Needs feature article.
I have a modest suggestion.
I propose GRM have an "open submission" for a Reader editorial every issue. Doesn't have to be a full page (half a page would be plenty I'd think), but basically the rules should require discussion of a motorsports issue relevant to the overall nature of the sport. The idea is to provide a perspective from the "receiving" end of the magazine. No pay to the writer but a credit would suffice, I'd think. Any interest?
Agreed on all counts, it was a great issue.
I dont know what you guys have planned in the future issues for challenge coverage, but i'd like to see a more general write up witb say... highlights and stuff. Not just here's a car here's what it did here's your winners.
Yep, always love the challenge write-up. My spidey-sense was tingling on the way to the mailbox today. Not much better than finding a new issue waiting.

Thank you. It's often said that the only people who read bylines are other writers. I appreciate you taking notice.
