Might try a set on the mustang, I hear they are good on a heavier car... any thoughts? or other sugestions? running stock wheels and the stock size is 235/55ZR17

They come stock on the 04-06 GTO in 245/45/17 flavors (the KDW1, the KDW2 has the "flame" tread and was stock on the SRT4 Neon, Tire Rack said they were the same tire). The 1 is OK, the 2 sucks. The stupid tread pattern leaves no rubber on the corners so if you roll the tire even a teeny, tiny, little bit it'll cord from the side. Did this with 2 sets on John's 05 GTO. Not much grip either due to huge void areas.

I'd highly recommend the Falken FK452 instead.

not a huge fan of them, barely had them on my lt1 trans am for a year before they were gone. This was using it as a DD and had about 5-6 autocrosses under them. Still 12,000 miles and 6 autoxes...shouldn't destroy a tire the way these things went out. I've run two sets of sumitumo haterz since on two different rides and they have lasted much longer and I'm pretty sure they have more grip as well.

I had the 2nd version with the fancy tread on my 240.

A decent compromise of a tire... Not a terribly grippy tire, but good for how long they lasted and how well they worked in the wet. Kind of expensive for a tire that didn't do anything particularly great.

I have the KDW2 225/45/16 on the V8 Volvo now but only because I got a new second hand set for cheap. I would rate them about the same grip level as the Azenis I run on the RX-7.

The Volvo is pretty heavy and has a large amount of body roll and they seem to have held up fine so far in the two auto-x's and 500 street miles they have seen. For the price though I wouldnt buy them new.
