Looking to seal up the inside of my TVR gas tank, and I'd like opinions on sealants.
Sportscar Craftsmen - the local LBC guys - recommended the 2-part epoxy system from Caswell Plating.
They also suggested a local outfit to do a chemical wash on the inside of the tank and a sand-blast on the outside.
Advice?
No experience here with the Caswell product, but I used Bill Hirsch's sealer in my Mk I Spitfire 20+ years ago and it's still holding up.
I had a Mk2 MR2 tank flash rust after sitting empty about 6mo. Used the Eastwood 2-part kit and it worked like a charm.
I’ve had luck with Red Kote.
How much product did you find it took? The tank is roughly 14 gal, and has two baffles at the third-way points.
I'll be popping a hole in the center chamber for the fuel pump, and the right chamber has the hole for the level-sender. Only the left chamber is relative inaccessible, though I should be able to pour sealant in thru baffle from the center section.
I have good luck with most of them. The Caswell is great, the Por-15 has held up awesome as well. The key is the prep. Every tank I seal (5-6 a year) is acid dipped to bare rust free metal before hand.

Just read your write-up on the Caswell stuff - excellent! I think I'm going to send my tank out for chem-strip too. It's such a mess and I really want it super clean before I add on the fuel pump mounting ring and all that.
Any recommendations on volume of sealant?
My estimate of volume on the tank is 14 gal, and it has two baffles.
I tried the POR15 fuel tank sealer kit on my e28's gas tank, and it disintegrated into sheets that got clogged in the fuel pump. YMMV.
I've used the POR 15 kit twice. Good luck so far, but I followed the directions as closely possible.
I used the Caswell stuff on my '66 Dart gas tank after welding in a sump. It was easy to apply, sealed up some maddening pinholes, and I have no complaints.

I've used the redkote and it worked well.
Caswell is the only way to go, all others can be stripped with solvents like MEK or alky. You never know what they'll do to gas next.... and many additive products like injector cleaner contain solvents.
