I started a new job a couple months ago, and finally consistently have weekends off for the first time in forever.
I dipped my toes back into the autocross pool with a local club which came highly recommended, and it was awesome! The venue was the paddock/parking lot at our local road racing course, and it was a bit cool, damp, and greasy for my early morning run group, but all the better for car control learning!
In the late 90's-2008-2009ish, I managed a decent number of autocrosses and rallycrosses a year, but even then sporadically depending on my work schedule. Today I ran in Not For Points to remove as much potential for red mist and getting in over my head as possible. Took my mostly-stock Toyobaru, and even left the stock tires on.
I improved my time every run, and improved my comfort with the car and the course. Reconnected with some old friends and made some new ones. Very interesting mix of machinery present. I can't wait for the next round, and still think autocross/rallycross is an insane motorsports value!
Anyone else out there wanting to dust things off, just go do it...you won't regret it!
