I know we are typically not a cosmetics first kind of site.. but with the bimmer soon to be off getting a new floor welded in, I have had little time to do anything mechanical to the saab short of learning how to drive it quickly.

Compared to my buttoned down ti.. it is nose heavy and wallows.. I am hoping a rear swaybar and stiffer shocks and springs will help..

But anyway.. with no time to do mechanical, I decided to embark on making my 94 look nicer and newer. It still needs the paint colour sanded and polished to get rid of the (extensive) orange peel from my first ever attempt at painting.. but I thought this would help.

After finishing off the peeling chrome, I decided to do something no other saab owner had done to their Ng900,, adapt the latest grill offerings.

I discovered that the centre bar from the 9-5 fit beautifully within the main opening of my grill.. so it was just a matter of cutting, sanding, gluing, filling, and painting.. and lots of sanding to make it fit.

After sanding, filling, sanding, gluing, sanding, filling, sanding, and finally painting.. I was able to glue it back together and install the centre bar before adding it to the car.

Looks good. I spent a good 5 hours preping and painting the steel wheels on my Aspen. I felt a little silly spending all that time on a $250 beater but the result was quite satisfying.

Seafoam Green never looked so good...
