I was reading another thread on this forum looking for LeMons teams. It got me thinking about how many people on this forum are part of a lemons team.

Sooo, I thought it would be neat to make a list of the people that do this, where they are located, how many races they have done, and finally the best finish (or award) they got.

I'll go first.

I race with at least 2 different teams that I am a founding member of. Ghetto Motorsports (East and West).

We drive a 1980 RX7 in the colorado area races. We have won the HPR race both times they have had it.

The East Coast car is a 1978 Malibu. We won least horrible yank tank, best finishing carb'd car, with a best overall finish of 11th.

My team members are all over the country right now but the team is based in Latrobe, PA.

I have been in 12 of these types of races.

Okay, now you go!

We run Lemons in the northeast.
-2010 we had the Wartburg, won IOE.
-2011 we ran a Civic Wagovan AWD at NJ and SP, I think we were like 33rd or something overall.
-2012 we are running the Civic with a turbo, and a crazy wacky project, that will hopefully be done in time for NJMP. We will run at NJMP, NHMS twice and Summit.

Chrissy and I also ran with Spank and his crew at Buttonwillow this December as part of the class C onslaught, won IOE there.

The team is based out of Birdsboro, PA (southeastern PA). Our name has been MisfitToys Racing, though we are re-branding now, new name should be finalized this week.

If anyone in our area is interested in joining the fun, email me, we have a seat or 2 open for NJ and Summit, and if we get enough local interest (including another tow vehicle), we could bring 2 cars to the NH races.

Does it have to be chump car/lemons? Myself and some close friends have been taking our cars down to Evergreen Speedway in Monroe Wa for their winter enduros. We took an Acura with no oil pressure down last month and did the 300 lapper. We were in the top 5 out of 45 when we airmailed a rod on lap 250 or so. I drove it back out at the white flag and took the checker and we still came in 14th. (not that many cars were left) In March we are going to take my Nissan 240sx down to the Rollx enduro at Pacific Raceways. Its 8 hours a day over 2 days. They seem to have cut and pasted the rule book from the Chump series.

Ran Sebring last year with a friends team. Had a blast and I'm starting my own team now. Have a good selection of drivers that have a lot of experience and picked up a miata for a legit $600. Sold the turbo, FM exhaust, roll bar,etc to offset my cost and pay for some equipment. Was hoping to make PBIR in march but time is running out so I'll be looking for a different event for our debut.

I run the Property Devaluation team out of Dallas. We have an 84 T Bird and a 79 Fairmont wagon. We're working on adding a 302 powered FC RX7 to the fleet. I've done something like 15 LeMons races and 4 or 5 Chumps. Our best finish was 11th with a class B win, We've won IOE and several smaller awards. We're always looking for arrive and drive team members. Google Property Devaluation Racing to see our facebook page and some youtube videos.

My team, formerly Baghdad Taxi, has raced in LeMons, Used Car Racing, and Chumpcar. The Taxi got totalled (although we did finish) at the 25:25:25 at Nelson in October. We have another shell that is getting all the usable parts from the taxi and will be out again in 2012. We did receive the "Never Say Die" trophy for our Nelson attempt.

For Lemons at least you can't claim teh roll bar or exhaust towards the value of teh car. These are exempt items from the budget if YOU bought them so, they are exempt from getting money back.

How did you get a $600.00 turbo miata with a roll bar? Remember, In lemons and to an even higher degree in Chumpcar, its not what you paid, but what it is worth.

Right place right time. I understand AIV and have 4 of the 10 ads needed but I'm looking for more.

You'll need to log in to post.
