I was curious if GRM has a back issue where they did work on an EK Civic's suspension? I am looking at doing some work to my 96, and understand there are certain things I have to do in order to install a rear swaybar on a non-rear swaybar equipped CX hatch.
I'm also looking for people's suggestions about suspension modifications to do time attack with the car? So far, I have Enkei RPF1's and Hankook RS3 225/45R15 rims and tires on my to order list so the tire situation will be MORE than handled (unless someone can convince me that the rotational mass of such a big tire in such an underpowered course out on the track is not worth it and I should go with a 205 wide instead). Probably just do GC's and Koni's like all the cool kids? Or is there a complete coilover setup I should look at? Raceland engineering doesn't make a kit for the EK and they told me development takes 1 year at least
First of all, I would stay away from Racelands. At all costs.
That being said, you've got a ton of options for suspension. If you feel like forking over the cash, a setup from KW would definitely be money well spent. We ran T1R coilovers (that we're now selling...) on our GRM Challenge car, and were happy with them. A tad stiffly sprung for such a light car, but nothing unfixable.

Adam, if you don't find it, I might have the issue. I have been a subscriber for quite a while and I don't ever throw GRM away.

I kept my issue with that article for exactly that reason. Unfortunately, after the move last year it's buried in a box somewhere undiscovered... If I stumble across it, I'll dig up the pertinent parts of the article.

nice price from a great company!
I while back I emailed 949racing (makers of the 6UL wheel) and asked about tire sizes on a EK civic. I was told 225/45/15 will fit under stock front fenders with their 15x8 +36 wheels but the rears will need 205/50/15 to clear stock body. Rolled they should fit though.
I have Koni yellows/H&R sport on mine and it's a nice all around setup IMO.

Thanks for that, e-mail sent to progress.
To Run_away, thank you for that information. I'm curious as to what they would say about 225/45R15 on a 7" rim... of course, the Enkei's are 2 pounds lighter than their selection, for only $50 less per rim that is a LOT of rotational weight! The civdork needs all the powa it has as it stands! And rolling fenders is easy-peasy, doesn't break a sweat on my brow
I'm going to be building an EK soon as well. There are a lot of aftermarket options as far as installing a rear sway bar. Just do a little reading in the FAQ section of Honda-Tech.
If you're looking to put a sway on the rear the safest most cost effective way is a ASR subframe brace. I got one for my EG and the ease of installation is great.

I have heard good things about that piece. We have a Comptech bar and brace on ours, but I'm guessing they're hard to find these days.
I bought if from these guys, http://www.weaksauceparts.com/store/home.php
I ordered it over the phone and the guy was very helpful. On top of erasing the risk of subframe tearing it also looks good and is very light weight.
