Common thread on here is that certain vehicles are always suggested as "the answer" to any given question. Curious as to who here have never owned any of these vehicles, which (in my perception) are the following:
Something with an LS;
Something with a Rotary;
A Miata;
A P71;
A Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon;
A diesel pickup/SUV;
(insert any other "answers" that I may have forgotten)
And if not, is it because you don't personally consider any of these "the answer?" Is it because you just want to be different? Is it because you consider something else to be the ultimate "answer" in various categories (track car, engine swap, tow rig, etc)? Or is it because you actually want all these things and can't afford any of them or some other reason?
Anyhow, thought it would be an interesting discussion.
I'll start off since I have never owned any of these, and with my justifications:
LS: never been in my budget and/or have never had a car that I think would be improved with an LS for my purposes with the car (admittedly, I only have had a few cars that could be LS-swapped anyhow)
Rotary: I like low torque and have hated the sound of every rotary car I've ever heard.
Miata: I love sitting in them and driving them. I hate the looks and have litte interest in owning a convertible of any kind.
P71: Just not interested in driving a car that big unless it's a truck
Suburban: I know they're the best SUV tow rigs out there. I never liked driving any I've driven, don't like the interiors or seats in any I've been in, and (most importantly) our truck is my wife's DD and she doesn't like them for one reason or another so that pretty much settles it.
Diesel: I'd love a diesel tow rig. I don't tow enough to justify owning one.
