Warren said exactly that - they'll probably come up with different brackets for different wings in the future.

Here's our rear light with everything turned off. You can see the flange. It can also be mounted in the typical big truck grommet. I never took a side shot because it's almost completely flush.

Not bad! Looking forward to them being released with the kit!

Yeah they were sold out for sure. I'm still on the wait list! The best way is to use searchtempest.com (searches craigslist) and look for COT wings. I found mine on ebay after searching for months. I'll keep on the look out for everyone.

I just picked up a COT wing after searching for months. Just happened to be the lucky guy who managed to be the first to connect with a fellow Exocet builder via a forum sale. The going price for these seems to be approaching $600, maybe more - IF you are lucky enough to run across one. They're nice wings, but there needs to be another option since these are made of Unobtanium.

Honestly, $600-800 is not an unrealistic price for a wing of that caliber. I don't think you could do any better for that price. They were just ridiculously cheap there for a while. I think that changed when some Miata guy figured out an easy way to mount them to a Miata and started selling mounts...

In reply to Keith Tanner: Keith, I totally agree with you, the bigger problem is that they're just really hard to find. When Exomotive gets through their startup phase (and shipping bodywork, etc.) it would be great if they could build and sell a quality wing at a fair price. I'd rather spend my time wrenching than scouring the internet for parts.

We'll probably leave the wing manufacturing to the manufacturers that are set up for it (autoclaves are expensive). We don't necessarily have to build the wings to develop a package that works for the car.

Sounds like we're getting near the price range of a new APR wing, though. Warren, are you guys still working on a mount for those?

In reply to linuxd00d:

Yes, but we've got higher priorities at the moment. The mount will use the same points on the frame, so you can still order your car with rear wing attachment points.

Does it cost anything to get the wing attachment points on the frame?

Warren no answer from info @ exo do you know if my kit shipped?

Keith did you get my question about converting big brake kit to lil' big kit with willwood rears? I also had some maintenence items to order & need a stock front sway if possible. I sent email to sales @ fm.

Don't worry; you'll know when it ships. Kevin confirms a delivery time with customers before sending them off. Your car went through QC today and will likely ship later this week, depending on pickup schedule.

Hey Sean, look what I found in the "ship tomorrow" pile. Kevin will contact you before it goes out.

Two left today for Vegas. The car after yours is going over the Rockies. Definitely a "go west young man" week.

Female molds are in progress. The current stage is ugly, but I have a couple pictures of the plugs from earlier:

Based on the discussions I have been seeing here, its possibly time for an exocet wiki. That way folks can get all the answers they need and you only have to type it once, then cut and paste from the various forums/email/documentation to your wiki.

I heard Exomotive will be displaying an Exocet at the 2014 Carlisle kit car show in PA. Is this still correct? If so, will you be there Friday and will i be able to sit in it?

Warren, is it possible to cut the driver side upper bar and replace / re-radius it to provide a few more inches of room? Whether it's done at your shop or not, what are your thoughts on how to gain a little more space for the driver? I understand that it's a fab project, just wondering what your thoughts are about how viable it is. I've sat in your chassis at your place last November. I'd like a little more space. When you look at an overlay of the chassis compared to a Miata, the side bars are inside of the top of the Miata door.

I understand the seat can be moved over, and that the steering column has some adjustment. Not sure how that effects pedal alignment and whether any adjustment is available there so you don't feel like you're in the car crooked.

If I had a solution to that I'd have ordered months ago.

Thanks for any ideas.

Hey, good to hear back from you. You're right, you've got about 1" less in an Exocet than a Miata if you have the seat all the way back. If you limit seat rearward travel to what it is in a Miata, you've got about 0.5" less. That top arc can't move, as that one tube is subject to many different design objectives including the tophat mounts front and rear, pedalbox, steering travel, bump travel, and compatibility with various bodywork designs. Moving it would also require a vast amount of CAM programming, as it would change the majority of tubes in the car. We would need to weld in some sort of horizontal Gurney bubble along the passenger compartment, and that would compromise strength and stiffness in a nasty way.

Good news: the car you sat in (XP-3) had 17" Kirkeys mounted further out than necessary. My 6'2" 240lb self is a bit more comfortable in XP-4, which has a 16" Kirkey mounted nearly touching the propshaft tunnel. If you're in town, you should try it again. If you need more room, you can ditch compatibility with NA exhausts and cut into the propshaft tunnel. You can gain a solid 2" before getting close to the propshaft itself. I'm not sure what it would cost for us to do that for you, but it's definitely a possibility.

The steering wheel has about a 1" radius of adjustment with our mounting system.

Is the problem you're trying to solve related to driver height, or driver width?
